They strengthened their overall squads - that's the key to success in the Championship.
Our promotion team were good enough for a back-to back promotion...but only if the starting XI stayed fresh and fit for the 46 games. That's not arrogant - a lot of Championship teams can say that. Which is my point. We finished 9th - our squad was eventually exposed.
As for the league Norwich won promotion from - Brighton and Peterborough were far superior compared to Wednesday and Huddersfield. And the teams that were relegated were stronger too - Swindon, Plymouth and Bristol Rovers.
I think we are starting to get left behind now............nothing we can do if we have no dosh, but be prepared to be bottom half & scrapping against relregation from the off.
Although I wouldn't touch El Hadji Diouf with a barge pole, Leeds now have him, Varney (ex Prem experience) Ross McCormack & Gray upfront - abd to think that they were in our position acouple of years ago.

You'd expect McCormack to be the Goalscorer in there with Gray as back up.
@AthleticoCharlton I agree with all of that, except that McCormack is better than just ok. You don't score the amount of goals he did for a mid-table Championship side last season if you don't have something about you.
I'm sure if Charlton were to sign McCormack everybody would be saying that's a great signing. But it's a matter of opinions at the end of the day.

Yeah, he is a very good player. I think they have 4 good strikers there for the champ but agree that for where we are now, I'd rather keep our 3.
