I barely remember even seeing him play to form an opinion on him.
And Garland was one of my favourite players at the time. Big Fat Pete had a thunderbolt shot on him, and was more cultured with his passing than people gave him credit for.
I am truly struggling with midfielders who were that bad.
McCormack, so called tough tackling midfielder who did not tackle, shirked more challenges than Rommedahl and spent half the game argiung with the ref.
Honourable mentions to Faye, Dean Sinclair, Pouso, Alonso.
Neil Redfearn, Brendan O'connell, John Barnes (except for one game against West Ham), Therry Racon (all hype), McCormack - never wanted the ball just used to chase the opposition...
Didn't think McCormack was that bad - feel that both him and Francis were made scapegoats.
Really?! I agree with you about Francis, he tried at least and had a decent cross on him, but McCormack? He couldn't tackle, had one foot and seemed to be physically incapable of passing the ball forwards. On top of that it seemed like he really didn't care how bad he played. Terrible all round.
So do I. Leaving aside loanees, who are only with the club for five minutes and perhaps lack the commitment to the club full timers should have, I'm afraid that young Mr Bacon was the most inept midfielder I can remember playing for us. Shame really as he was a product of our youth team.
Has to be Faye. Anyone who can smack an attempted back-pass from the halfway line out for a corner while under no pressure from the oppo has to have something about them.

The first didn't ever play and the second played about 3 games and actually scored a goal.
