Ambrose was a squad player at Palace last season and I think this is one of those flog him now decisions while we can get some money for him decisions that clubs have to make.
He'll do well at Birmingham - for a season or two then fade.
It'll be interesting to see how gets on, as his spell at Palace was probably the most successful of his career.
Ambrose is the type of player who's good if you play him in the right position (behind the front man) and have other people to do the donkey work in midfield.
We are selling him because he is in the last year of his contract, because in order for Dougie to buy in the manner being rumoured he has to sell to partially finance deals or free up wage bill and also, I suspect, because, last season, other than the goal at Old Trafford, his contribution was minimal.
And at least we are getting some cash for him and this sales represents a transfer trading profit for us.
I hope the Birmingham faithful who sit behind the goal are wearing their crash helmets! We die hards in the lower North still talk about the number of people Dazza poleaxed in the warm up!

Ambrose was your top scorer last year wasnt he, not too shabby for a minimal contribution.

I personally can't stand the bloke, but I thought you lot loved him?

Sharron is in fact only 7.
Who's the Birmingham manager now, I've lost track.

You should never believe rumours, we never do on here, have you got a source?
(I liked him when he played for us, but soon got over him leaving)
Was great playing just behind a main striker (Ipswich 2007). But was always seemed to be used playing in a 442 on the left or right.
Remember people calling for him to play in a middle two with Faye at beginning of 2006/07 season.
