Putting aside the footballing achievements as managers of Powelly and Curbs for a moment, where CP scores so highly is the way he communicates his passion for the club. It is simple, direct and clearly heartfelt. It stirs the emotions in us all I'm guessing, and that is what is marking him out as a special uniting manager for this club, which is some achievement in itself. Good on you Powelly, you are a top man.
cor blimey wait till a prem team comes in in about two years time. There are going to be some seriously broken hearts amongst you lot.
Yes, there certainly will be. And there's nothing wrong with that. He is one of our own and is as Charlton as anyone I've ever seen at the club in the 20 years I've been going.
Thanks for posting this.....CP to me sums up a man who has never forgotten his roots here or that of the club and its supporters and he knows how much we have been hurting, and I believe that even when he was elsewhere -Leicester for example- he was feeling just as bad as we were about Charlton's sad decline......now he has the chance to take this club back where it belongs and he will stay here for many a year....will it be 15 who knows? but I do know he will work his socks off to take us as far as he humanly can.......and I for one will enjoy the journey, because just from listening to him he has this club at his soul.....and once someone has that then there is no way he will be defeated. Thank you Chris.
