A minor point after a great day, but it was annoying that the programmes had sold out by 2.30 outside, as the special end of season one would be one worth keeping. I'm sure the club missed out on a lot of revenue too...
Yes, was a bit fed up with that. I just missed the last one from my usual seller by about 10 seconds. Don't suppose the club would consider a second printing? I'm sure they could shift quite a few
Yes. Welling away is first pre season and Maidstone away, no date agreed yet. Off to Spain day after Welling game for two games against as yet unarrnged opposition. Will be no home friendly due toOlompics . that is it so far.

although they were a fiver ( normally £3), but totally worth it. gutted i could get one. was thinking about nicking one off of the fat kid in front of me
It mst be a very difficult decision knowing how many to print, even when you know how many tickets you've sold. In actual fact my Dad and I always buy a program, but yesterday there were five in our party, and we only bought three.
Yesterday's edition was the sort which if they had unsold copies left over, they would easily be able to sell afterwards to people who couldn't make the game or general programme collectors, as it was to celebrate a rare and special occasion, so to sell out by 2.30 when there were still thousands of people outside was poor
Someone's made a rick there all right. It's supposed to be a souvenir programme, not a limited edition collectors item! My friend's lad was gutted he couldn't get a copy. We're going to have to pay over the odds on ebay to get one now rather than paying the club for 3 programmes like we'd normally do.
Extra programmes were printed, compared to Stevenage (similar crowd), but bearing in mind it was £5. I know from experience it is very difficult to get numbers right but Matt Wright and I both tend to the view it is better to print too many. When I was doing it you could have a 50 per cent variation depending on the circumstances.
It's slightly misleading to talk about what time it sold out, because so many people arrived earlier than usual, but I know some who missed out. Reprints are rarely economically viable, because of the set-up costs.

How many would have to commit for more to be printed?

I understand that a lot of people arrived early, but it's not as if the streets were empty at 2:30 when I arrived, there were still 1000s outside, and yesterday was the sort of day when flogging stuff to happy fans was very easy, so more people were always likely to buy programmes, even at £5.
I'm not so sure the Stevenage game is a good benchmark for programme numbers anyway. Our usual seller had run out well before kick-off for that game too. I appreciate its a difficult task second guessing how many people are going to buy a programme and balancing that against the costs but it seems the decision was way out for this game. So many people who sit around us didn't get one.
I saw some guy after the match with a huge pile of programmes, must be flogging them on eBay?
Well, I hope they do a second printing. I'd rather give my money to the club than some twat on ebay who stopped other fans getting a programme just so they can rinse a few quid out of people.

Nice to know that the condition is still "as new" after all this time.

Perhaps a bundle pack when the DVD is released next month? I know I'd certainly consider it.
