  • Maybe if he had a better attitude while he was with us he'd still be here.
  • ..for Newcastle.

The whole mess with Ikeme was just another thing that we have to thank Parky for.
  • No he wasn't better though IMO. He's playing in Scotland equivalent to league 1/ championship yoyo clubs.
  • I digress from the point
Let's not dig at Parkinson any more.

We are with a new manager no we are with a messiah now.

Forget the past and look to the future.

Randy was similar to Elliott not better IMO but that's why it's an opinion.
  • Was wondering how long it would take for this to turn into a "better than Elliot, pardew/parkinson shit blah, blah, blah" thread.....................

Just say well done to Randy on let's move on............
  • I'll always remember the save against Leeds - one of the best I've ever seen live

I second that, especially the situation of the game and that it was right at the end of it when we were 1-0 up.
  • then Pardew bought Elliot?
    Huh?
Pardew purchased Elliot for Newcastle, goes against your point that he valued Randolph higher

Think its more to do with Agents than rating someone higher

  • Saw Randolph at the end of the season and asked if he was signing a new contract he said Parkinson won't make him first choice so was looking elsewhere as he didn't want to sit on the bench anymore, otherwise he would sign

all he needed to do was to say he supported charlton, he could have gotten away with anything then

no real surprise to a couple of us that he's done so well up there
  • I did like Randolph but I always felt he was a little over-hyped. He was good but I never felt he was that good. It's good for him getting in to team of the year, though he's only competing against 11 other players in a league so bad it's technically a war crime to show it in some countries
Like a lot of young keepers he had talent but needed game time to improve himself which he's getting at Motherwell.
  • I have seen him play 5 times this season for them as i have regular work there and go to matches with a local friend, good keeper in the SPL and still developing but looks no different then your average league 1 keeper, on what i have seen this season of him he would still be sitting on the bench for us behind Hamer.
  • Came in when the wheels were coming off our promotion push end of 2009-10 season and his steadying influence helped guide us to the play offs, good luck to him , he thought (and so did I) that he deserved to be no.1 he didn't get it here so went elsewhere
SCP knows that the keeper is a massive position and he rectified that for us

  • FOD what are you confused about?

I just remembered - this is what Parky said at the first seat cleaning day - Randy wanted to be no. 1 and Parky said "come back after the summer break and fight for the no. 1 shirt with Elliott." Instead Randy started looking for another club. So he was a tad arrogant.
  • Full debut tonight for Ireland...
  • Superb goalkeeper.
  • didn't support the right team

  • Good Goalkeeper probably better than Elliott but we have moved on with Hamer and Button.

  • Randolph was certainly more spectacular than Elliott, and is very much in the modern mould of athletic keepers
  • Good luck to him, still preferred Rob Elliot at the time. Both gone onto bigger adventures, but i cant see RE playing in the near future unfortunately

Also very happy with Hamer so cant really complain
