The Sun.

Toally unacceptable headline today in relation to Roy Hodgson's speech impediment. It seems this tacky rag has not moved on since the days of Kelvin McKenzie, but of course let's not forget it is a Murdoch's title.

  • what did it say ?
  • agreed
  • From reports it was replacing R's with W's in the headlines - so Woy, Euwo's ...type of stuff
  • Not worth using as loo paper that rag.

agreed .. Roy's in danger of becoming a laughing stock before he gets his feet under the table. Totally out of order
  • "Bwing on the Euwos".

The Sun taking the piss out of a man who can speak five languages...good one.
  • Disgraceful and needs a monster fine. Class act The Sun.
  • They are a disgraceful, trashy rag that totally misjudged the public's reaction to their feeble attempt at mocking Roy. As if there is no real news worthy of a front page! Listened to lots of anger and outrage about it on the radio whilst driving.
  • They've been calling Jonathan Ross 'Wossy' for years. What's the difference?

  • It's so unnessary, who really cares?
  • Multiple uses of 'woy' in the 'next england manager' thread. Either way disgraceful.
  • Don't get the big deal people on here were doing it yesterday. I'm sure it was light hearted. Then general report on Hodgson was quite positive. Is it really any different to the Capello / postman pat references? I'm sure Roy wasn't that upset about it.

IF you can't work out the difference for yourself ..
  • Of course, nothing to do with the "exclusive" deal that 'arry has signed with the Wapping rag.
  • Let's be honest, the sun and most other tabloid trash are going to slate the guy for the slightest thing to try and drive him out. Englands continous failures obviously sell more copies than success. They've been doing it for yrs and will never stop. I'm sure they would eventually have turned on "sir" Redknapp eventually.

They seem to think that we've got the best team in the world and every failure is due to the manager......................

All true but I think this latest Sun headline goes beyond critisism of his Hodgesons ability and what does lie fairly and squarely as journalistic game but attacks disability which for me is unforgivable.
  • I'm sure they'd show their true colours if we ever appointed a black england manager...................
  • Scum bag rag that no one should be buying after the millie downer situation

Filthy rotten not fit to wipe a peados arse

    Hate it

  • Insulting trash and headlines -- and very upsetting to others with a speech inpediment - they have to remember their responsibility as a paper a -can imagine poor kids and work mates getting stick today due to this pile of crap - ans as for the statement re Jonathon Ross -we all know this is personal because of the choice ===paper is a Disgrace

In which case none of you would have seen it

  • Was wondering how the enlightened minds on this board would possibly be able to comment on something they are quite obviously superior to and would in no way look at as well PL54.

The shameful headlines have been widely reported by other media. Hence the discussion. Not rocket science is it ?

You really must try joined up thinking sometime.
  • i saw the headline on the newstand at the train station yesterday morning. that ok with you?

  • Wondered how long it would take before they began to assassinate the new England manager, outdone themselves this time, less that 24 hours.

I buy the 'Sun' on saturday as Templegate is a top racing tipster and I confine my horse betting to (mostly!) saturdays. I was in Tesco picking up the groceries and whilst there I had a gander at the headlines, a free look through the newspaper racks .. The headline in the 'Sun' caught my eye for it's more than usual crassness and insensitivity. I usually have no beef with the 'Sun', it's a jolly, bullshitting kind of rag and if it goes over the top sometimes in its headlines and editorial, so what, better this than the bland and totally pc approach of the BBC and (say) the Guardian. Murdoch has a right to appoint whoever he likes to his staff and to edit his newspapers, if you don't like what he says and does, then don't buy his product.
Sometimes the 'Sun' editors and headline writers get it wrong. The mocking of Hodgson is a prime example. I suspect they are taking the Millwall approach .. everyone is having a go at us, do we give a f**k .. you've all got a new football manager .. f**k you and f**k him. Naughty Mr Sun. Go and stand in the corner
  • Our skipper tweeted this yesterday ,good on him

Wonderful journalism from the old Currant Bun this morning #boycott

  • Funny that The Sun have started how they are meaning to go on....i wonder if they have a columnist who was in the running for the job..oh yes, Harry Redknapp.
