Apparently, even though he is banned from playing, IF Chelski beat Bayern, Terry will not only be given a winners medal, he will also be allowed to 'lift the trophy' according to BBC Sport: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17860112.

I never thought I would support a foreign club over an English one...............but..............come on Bayern!!

Joke of a decision, if he was banned due to yellow cards amassed then it would be understandable. But his behaviour on Tuesday was thuggish and he should not be let anywhere near the trophy.

I want to see Chelsea stuff Bayern and Terry lift the trophy. He is the captain of the team and, like it or not, all the players love, admire and respect him ... also, it will shut out Pardew's men from a Euroleague spot should they finish fourth.

After Terry has lifted the trophy, I next want to see him, Cahill, Cole and Lampard doing the business for England in Polukland

Stupid. He would be the 1st to lift the trophy without even playing the match! The arrogence is shameful. Chelsea beat Barcalona at the Nou camp with 10 men for over an hour. They were heroic for their fans after Terry the idiot put them under immense pressure. The chelsea captain on that day should just say F**K off John.

I'm not surprised, he led the team through the rest of the tournament, i suppose its kind of against the idea of being banned, but, again i'm not surprised.

As for the morality issue... Personally think it wouldn't be a bad idea to ban anyone accused of racism from the England team. Could set a very good example and reinforce the "football against racism" theme.

I'm not even sure I can get behind England with Terry in the team. I want to see England do well, but I will not allow myself to 'sell out' to that guy. I pray he doesn't even get the option of going anywhere near the European Cup (for Abramovich's sake as much as anything else).

Terry is one of the most despicable people to grace a football pitch. I find any defense of the man to be wholly depressing. Sad emoticon.

But when you play football, everything else for that 90 mins goes out the window. ive played with plenty of people ive disliked off the pitch...but if they was getting grief on it, id help them out. As a captain, he must rub off on the other players and they look up to him/respect him. Only in a football sense of course.

If Chelsea were to beat Bayern (and if they set out to play the way they did against Barcelona I sincerely hope they do not!) and John Terry were to lift the cup there is not one Chelsea player, member of staff or fan (or any real football fan as opposed to keyboard warriors who froth at the mouth and take to the internet forums the second a member of the current list of pantomine hate figures commits an indiscretion) that would begrudge him that because they all know that if it was not for his superb performances for Chelsea in most of the previous matches in this season's Champion's league Chelsea would not have made it to the semis never mind winning it!
