and if we'd let curbs run the last year of his contract we'd have delayed relegation
and giving dowie just 12 games and forcing the coaching set up on him wasn't the greatest idea ever
Not so sure about your first point Oooahhh, I think that if you have someone in charge who everyone knows is leaving at the end of season/year/contract etc they become a bit of lame duck. Happens in politics, business and sport.
Seems to be a bit of confusion as people seem to be saying he left but that the Club didn't let him run out his last year.
I think you'll find that he was happy to see out his contract but the club wanted him to sign a new one. He didn't want to commit to longer and the club didn't want a lame duck manager so it was agreed by both parties to call it a day. Probably the right decision.
not forgetting that murray wouldn't pay up to sign tim cahill ..... tried to bluff him thinking he wouldn't move up north ....wrong
thought Cahill's missus made him move up north to get away from some bird down The Den he was giving a regular seeing- to (allegedly)
Hadn't heard about that Large....but there 'was' something that happened with his somewhat errant (for want of a better word) brother outside a Bromley mini cab office with a local villain.......I'll say no more other than Tim Cahill was getting flack from all directions re this. His brother ended up inside I believe and things got a bit hairy in this part of the world for the Cahills....possibly the 'two things' added together(young family and all that), made him look further afield but as I say I had/have no knowledge of what you're suggesting.
Funny that Curbs wrote his autobioagraphy & didn't put that in for the reason he left - but as Chirpy said, he wanted to run his contract out & then see what happens - RM wanted more stability and so they agreed that Curbs would leave 1 yr early.

Why write an autobiography & lie about things !!!
Curbs autobiography was poor compared to other football manager's books.
And i also think Dowie wouldve done a better job keeping us up if he had the season. (obviously Reed and Robson wouldve had to have gone or one or the other)

We've moved on!

The Dowie debate will never be resolved.
Or did we sack him?

But yes, I heard we had those two players lined up to come.

Bullard only got injury prone after he moved to Fulham and Scott P accidentally done his knee in (eyes water when i see that challenge)
Everything that was said was common knowledge.
