lincs - couldnt pay the whole rent, court costs and solicitors fees now added on. I could be wrong, but I dont think any of that entails borrowing money of any sort. Just not paying what she should of. But its what the climate at the moment is all about, people get themselves into a mess. Not being able to afford something and borrowing are two totally different things. You tried to be clever and ended up looking stupid

You don't have to explain yourself to anyone.
You asked for advise but unfortunately some people are more interested in trying (and failing) to look clever.

OK .. My apologies .. I could argue and split hairs over what is 'borrowing money' etc etc etc .. My sympathies are with your relative .. BUT .. surely there are agencies and advice centres to turn to before things get to this state ... I know things are different in this contemporary dog eat dog world, but many years ago, getting evicted from a dodgy house/flat was often a good move as it could mean being rehoused by the local authority into a better property .. in any case, i wish your relative all the best during these trying circumstances. And DON'T shoot the Sheriff ... f f s !!!!!

Lets argue then Lincs....... Non payment of bills? Non payment of fines?
money money money .. ALL the above involve money .. not paying a fine is borrowing money from the court IF you don't pay the fine immediately after being found guilty of the offence which incurred the fine .. bills not paid on time .. the amount owed on the bill is legally BORROWED as soon as the bill becomes due and the payment on that bill is not met .. over to you

she shouldn't have let this go this far appreciated, and she is in no threat of being evicted as its different rent. I appreciate your apology, its accepted - but there's certainly no borrowing involved. She didnt pay what she owed thats all

Only when the initial sum of money, WHICH IS NOT AND NEVER HAS BEEN BORROWED MONEY, is either not payed at all or payed late! I see your point about splitting hairs though, but that's because you need to because you're talking bollocks!

no worries, appreciate SOME of the feedback and help received

The thing is Big Rob, merely repeating that I am 'talking bollocks' doesn't really enhance your argument .. nor does it prove your point .. get back in your corner and put on the dunce's hat ..I MUST go .. have a nice afternoon

Sorry to hear about your aunt, I had not realised this was for non payment of rent. My case is for a guy who thinks he can pay when he wants to, even though I have given him a reduction, and 10 written statements/invoices...... and is stalling .

I only said you're talking bollocks once Lincs, but you are proving my point better than I ever could just by commenting.
I see Lincs is resorting to a dictionary again. I hope this is better than his Spanish one. Someone got into debt for reasons which aren't given and aren't relevant to the question posed by cafc1990. Instead of being judgemental (as your initial post at 11.52 was) why not try and help or if you can't assist stay quiet?
There was a whole series on TV recently about high court sherrifs - was interesting viewing. The sherrifs are not salaried, they are paid commission dependant on how much of the debt they recover. They're pretty motivated to get the money owed.
If someone can post photos of Lincsaddick and BigRob then I'm sure we'll have them hugging on the deck of the Titanic in no time...
Well using my psychotherapist skills I can deduce that people who have a picture of themselves on their profile are confident in their own ability to "back up" what they type.
Big Rob has his photo. I asked him once how big he was and he said big enough. That'll do for me.

Just because some of us have very varied opinions and live very different lifestyles does NOT mean that we cannot and will not 'get along'/
