Di Canio slags off team

Di Canio has a go at his team for their attitude. He stated that it's not about winning, it's about having the right mentality and having a professional attitude, as the fans deserve it. He said it doesn't matter what his team were doing for the rest of the season it's tonight that matters to the fans that have paid their wages. Good on him i say.

    He seems pretty spot on on a lot of what he says. He has to be careful though, he could easily get a few players annoyed, and if enough get annoyed he will be in a situation where he cannot manage. I personally love him though.

    I want to see him do well though it does irk me that the media only seem interested in talking about Swindon just because he is there.

    Last time he said enough to get a player annoyed he ended up getting rid of Leon Clarke and with Paul Benson firing him to promotion. With form like that he should chat all day

    Never been a fan and nothing he says now makes me think any different. He will lose the dressing room soon enough and it will end in tears. Talk of having a professional attitude from a bloke who pushed a ref over is just laughable to be honest!

    I heard that he only landed back in England yesterday morning, from Italy, after his mum passed away. Knowing his passion for the game and life, I am pretty sure this would have left him with little time for any players he felt were not giving everything.

    My condolences for the loss of his mum.

    From what I heard of it he was even slagging the youth team - or maybe he was saying he would rathar have them instead - was a bit difficult to make out! Have sympathy for him over loss of his mum, but does seem that a rant of that level at this stage of the season is out of order - imagine if SCP had had a real go at the squad if we'd lost 2-1 at Carlisle??

    He was a great player and excelled for us. I think the jury is still out on whether he is a good manager or not. He is clearly a very committed player and manager, who takes his football seriously, but I am not sure he will go on to do great things.

    Who's to say he didn't after the Colchester and Notts County home defeats?

    I might be reading the BBC article incorrectly but i thought di canio implied a drinking mentality at the club is the problem. Basically the players are acting like they've already been promoted.

    But he didn't do it to the press. There is a big difference. I think Di Canio's public comments were out of order.

    Bit of a difficult subject really. I have always rated Lee Hughes, don't agree with what he did but a few years back would not have objected to seeing him in a Charlton shirt.

    Like I said, the subject is difficult and thorny.

    Not really. If they really are a racist...then they are hardly going to fit in somewhere like CAFC given the ethnic make up of the players, management and fans, are they? P45 time, methinks.
