I don't think anyone has mentioned the under 18's coming through, there are a few of them who are not too far from featuring. Bringing our own through has to be important to us financially and in other ways.
I'd think it be highly stupid to let Taylor go. With been there before with one fit cb at the start of the season in the champ. We know he can defend has to stay with us for next season.
I think the players to go will be:Alonso,Euell,Warren,Clarke, Tosan Popo,Doc,Mambo. Some players i would like to see come in as follows:- Right Back-Adam Smith, Centre Half-Karleigh Osbourne,Centre mid-perm any two from-Bostwick,Coutts,McKenzie,Gleeson.Left mid-Jason Puncheon or Anthony Wordsworth,Centre forward-Lee Barnard or Simeon Jackson
Well I expect CP will already have a few additions in mind and given his record this year I happily trust his judgement. We already have quite a few quality palyers who will thrive in The Championship. We probably need a combatitive midfielder in the Scotty Parker mould and one or two others but generally I think our young team is up to it. By the way someone suggested JJ and Hollands as a midfield pairing not sure if you noticed but they are both left footed, which may not give the best balance.
What I am interested to see is how Stephens fares next year. The boy has quality but at times has looked lost when the rough and tumble starts maybe a better level of football will suit him? who knows.
I think Hughes, Euell, Hayes, Clarke, Doc, Mambo will go. I would like to get in:
- GK competition for Hamer. Sullivan will be kept on, as we would need 3 GKs I think - Back up / comp at RB for Solly - A centre back to sit alongside MM (if as some say, Taylor may not be 1st choice. And Cort may not last a whole year) - A winger, CM (to compliment the others we still have who have been superb) - Competition / back up for Kermorgant (Bowditch please) plus the same for BWP
Anyway, its early days. Even I am all sunshine and happiness and want to enjoy the rest of the season for now.
Do players really get more time on the ball in the Championship? Seen it suggested a few times that likes of Stephens and Green might be better in the Champ, but teams aren't going to sit back and let them pick out passes/shots/crosses.
Teams might attack us more which should suit the way we play, but generally I think players like Stephens and Green will need to improve to play regularly at that level.
I would keep the vast majority of the current starting 11. I think that Stephens, Green Wagstaff and Hollands should do ok in the championship. Most of the older players such as Hayes,Taylor,HughesRussell, Euell,Doc and those who haven't played at all will go.We have a good back four but I worry about Hamer although he seems to have grown in confidence recently. I think Pritchard will get better but wonder whether BWP will score enough goals at championship level. I would go for a really good striker( if we can get one) and a new keeper. I don't really think that Jackson is quick enough for the championship ( hope I am wrong). Kermogant is good enough and we haven't really seen enough of Evina
I just hope any players that do come in are the type that can enable us to switch tactically during the game if we need to change things around - players that can switch positions and formations comfortably, as we have had occasionally had some problems with teams that have lined up differently to us and they'll be better next year. Not deviating too much from 4-4-2 has worked well this season, but more flexibility will be needed next, I think - particularly from the bench. Struggling to think of a good Championship-level example, but a player like Lallana, who can play in 3 or 4 different positions, springs to mind. Not as a signing (not realistic) but as a type. Or someone like Hammill of Wolves.

Are we seriously still paying Docherty every week ?
So we either have to cancel his contract or sell him.
Expect 5-8 out and an equal number in.

What we desperately need is an injection of pace, and probably a goalscorer.
