Can't believe someone thinks Waggy hasn't got pace. Green has a decent cross but rarely gets into dangerous areas to make them count. Very dissappointed considering £300k spent. I think he will struggle at a higher level against better defenders and doesn't do defending very well.
Both are very good players, and both have different drawbacks. Green seems to me to sometimes lack footballing "intelligence" but Wagstaff seems to have a pretty poor attitude towards the referee, I will never forget when he got given his first chance in ages when he came on as a sub and spent about 99% of his time along side the ref whining.
Having said that I feel Waggy really was not given a fair throw of the dice this season up till now. Also, Green's face when he runs is concerning, like a pufferfish expanding and contracting at a rate of 50 times per second.
would you keep N'Guessan for next season if we can get hold of him over the summer ??
Absolutely not, brought in as cover (hopefully) & scored 3 vital goals but overall I don't think he's good enough for our team. When signing players for next season I would hope that we are going to bring in players of Championship standard that will improve the team............however harsh that may be on the fantastic squad that have got us there.
Green has been the most disappointing player for me this season, I thought he would get his head together and push on when he came back to us, he was with us as a kid, so I thought it may spur him on. I think his fitness can be called into question, that and the fact he didnt link up with Solly that well is part of the reason Waggy gets my vote.
i think thats an area where we dont need cover but waggy s energy is exceptional(something that parky used to go on about),coaches and team mates really appreciate that aspect of a players game and i think that will get him a long way ,the comparison with robbo is a good one .Green does seem to have a delicate tempeamentand was the worse for being the unjustified butt of the boo boys
N'Guessan is a useful player to have around, it's not obvious what his best position is though? I've also been a bit underwhelemed with Green this season, a few good things but a lot less than I would have hoped for after his performances with the Daggers. Waggy doesn't have the trickery of a winger or Green's crossing ability, but has pace and energy, and is a decent finisher as well; it would be interesting if he was played in a BWP type role, on the shoulder of the last man, how many he'd score.
Without wishing to be too harsh on Green I think like Benson he has found his level (league one) and although he was too good for Dagenham I always thought he wasnt quite good enough for us.
Whats not to like about Waggy, Charlton through and through, energetic, gets important goals, makes important goals...
BUT, he hasnt played in the Championship for 3 years and was just a kid then. I really hope he makes the step up but still see that position as a weak area for us and hope SCP has his eye on someone to fill it.
Both bench players next season in my mind at best I expect to see new blood on the right of midfield next season in afraid. If I had to pick one though it would be Green, more creative for others but has limitations
I truly believe that we have not seen anywhere near the best of Green yet. It's too early to write him off. I remember reading that he has found it hard to adjust playing for a big club and the added expectations that brings. Also I feel he has put extra pressure on himself by declaring unfinished business etc. Different player to Waggy, room for them both. Both better than N'Guessen. Anyway, Wordsworth is Jacko cover on the left ;-))

Agree with this, give the guy a chance he has shown real quality at times this season.greens delivery is another level to waggys....i would keep them both. Early 20's and will improve.
This may sound weird to some, but i think Green might be better in the Championship. Okay he doesn't have Waggy's pace but yet we know he has a lot quality about him. I think Green would relish the experience and i think it could mature him.
Waggy has improved a lot recently IMO. Yes he has always had the pace and the stamina, but recently he hasn't been as easily knocked off the ball or easily shrugged off. Both should stay and warrant a place and if neither deliver much, then a possible loan signing around the Jan period...but i can see both players progressing in the Championship.
Looking at those pictures of Waggy without his shirt on, he certainly has been bulking up on the weights, I imagine that was part of a deliberate routine to make him stronger on the ball
Green has been one of the few disappointments of the season for me. I think there's a good player in there somewhere but we have only seen that in patches. As for Waggy he's not the greatest player in the world but at least he usually gives 100%. Lets hope they can both do a good job for us next season
Both bring different qualities, I like them both. I think Green will benefit from playing in the Championship with it being less physical and having more space. Waggy is gonna be a star, just wait until it all clicks, just like it did with Robbo and "Flash" Flanagan.
Green is the best gifted player at charlton , give him time and he will come good , can't belive some of the supporters views on players , get behind players like green before he is snapped up by bigger clubs.
Waggy's game is built on running and running and running but there'll be days when that doesn't work while Green's is based on quality rather than quantity.
There's space in squad for both next year, football is becoming a squad game, personally I think we're better with Green than Wagstaff, but it's nice to change and have the latter start a few games here and there.
Just a shame Waggy doesn't seem to be able to play on the left, or isn't allowed the chance. Personally a left sided waggy with green on the wing would be excellent.

I agree, and find it incredible that there were any boo boys this year.
Shakes head.
