Do we just need a win and a draw to clinch the title?
Yep...
Our GD - +43 SW GD - +29 SU GD - +37.
What??
Goal difference...
A win and a draw will clinch promotion as long as goal difference doesn't dramatically change. Not clinch the title. Plus I personally hope we don't scrape through on goal difference.
Carlisle is going to be tough after Notts county win today. But what an Easter weekend. Huge praise for scp and his backroom staff, the players, directors fans. Get in!!
Solly once again a powerhouse performance. Whole back 4 were superb. Ref was poor, the foul on haynes at the end when he thought about giving the free kick then let walsall play on was a joke. Everyone played the hearts out. The reds are going up, and now your gonna believe us, now your gonna believe us!
I am sitting in a cottage overlooking the ocean, which is only 30m away, on Mombasa South Coast. I've just been for a swim to the reef - the water is like a tepid bath. Now I have managed to get an internet connection (it is a bit ropey here) and I find that we have won again. At the moment life couldn't get much better!
Players are knackered but so will Carlisle be and they have 3 games to get in the playoffs against us, Stevenage and Wednesday away. Look at Brentford who have come from nowhere and they have to play Wednesday at home!
All that matters is the 3 points at this stage and we got them. Solly was magnificent and back four in general kept Wallsall at a distance. Kermorgant looks battered and needs a rest. My worry is central midfield. Pritchard did ok but I thought Stephens was so far off the pace it was at times painful to watch. Need to drop him now and get Hughes back in for his effort and energy. Decent performances from DNG and Haynes when he came on.
Started out like a lion, finished like a lamb but scored once so all is good : - )
The team got sloppy later on which may have been tiredness or just the pressure Warsaw put us under. Hamer never really had a save to make although there were a few mix ups with the defence that could have let them in. Stephens was particularly poor 2nd half, Kermongant immense and Solly showed why he is walking the POTY vote. N'Gussen with yet another goal. A Jim Melrosesqe signing from CP.
But at this stage a win is a win. 3 points and just 4 to play. Two wins will take out up and out of the bloody division.
Nice to meet Adrian and Rob in the Lib. All the way from France and the US of A to sample SE7's premier drinking establishment.
Very similar to the Orient game without the second goal to relax everyone. We started well, but Walsall grew into it after the first 15, and the second half was spent far too much in our own half for my liking. However, despite being in the ascendency in the2nd half, they never really threatened.
We looked knackered as the second half wore on. It won't just be the physical exertions of Saturday, but the mental pressure of the last few months. We are just about doing enough to get the wins, and its a great testament to everyone's battling qualities and inner resolve.
Pritchard come in today and done a very good job for me, particularly as he was hampered with an early booking. Harried well and kept good possession. N'Guessen has been a great loan, looks awkward and i'm not sure i'd sign for next year, but his three goals have been vital. And copied and pasted from the last 25 games, Yann was once again was an all action hero and Solly immense.
They might be tired but who can blame them. I think players like Kermo want this title bad, I read somewhere that he has never won a thing with any club and the best ever was 5th! this might explain his indestructability at present!
As I predicted last Thursday, we got the two scrappy 1-0 victories. Went to both and very proud of the effort and commitment. Thought we played some good football today as Walsall to their credit came to play.
Solly immense and great effort from N'Guessan.
4 points for auto and 7 for the title. 9 for 100 points Promotion at home v Wycombe
Hard fought win against a decent looking walsall side. Just 5 more points now to confirm promotion. It could happen at carlisle next week but more likely against wycombe or preston. I don't care where or when, just as long as we get there.
Solly and DNG were excellent. DNG worried Warsaw with his pace and his link-up play with Solly and not only scored a superb goal but nearly got a second. Yann struggled today and not only after injuring his ankle. He didn't win as many of the aerial battles and misplaced a number of passes (but never gave up.) Three points and yet another clean sheet as we march on to the title. Comments on all the players on the marks thread.

They will see that they have to get 3 points tomorrow.
