If he's going to be on the bench then isn't it even more of a reason to have someone like Hayes replacing Sullivan?? Think i'm right in saying that Taylor won the FA trophy playing in goal.

He did but that was years ago and I don't think it's wise to not have a keeper on the bench who trains week in, week out...as a keeper. Otherwise, not much point even having a reserve keeper on the books if your centre back can do the job just as well.
taylor has worked his way as a fan favorite for me. even tho cort has replaced him in the starting 11, he is still a favorite player of mine.
I'd have Taylor back in for next season. Cort was a liability for Burnley in The Championship.
Do be serious. Let's see what happens with him first. He has been better than both the others since coming in. Morrison looked a liability Monday, almost got caught out.
I think Taylor has done really well this season , I think it was catching up with him a bit at the end , but Taylor , Morro and Cort have been tonnes better than previous seasons offerings, if we to swap the old guard for the current guard then I would feel nervous about our end of season finish.
At least Taylor has done nothing wrong, hopefully he's not too down about it. One of our centre backs will get suspended/injured at some point and SCP will have no qualms calling upon him to play his part. It's then up to him to make the place his own in the way that Leon Cort marvellously has.
I think Cort has surprised all of us. Never expected him to sneak into the team and keep a fit Matt Taylor out.
The only thing that works against Taylor is that he doesn't seem to have a stand out characteristic in his game which gets him noticed. Cort is fantastic in the air, Morrison is decent in the air and probably the best centre back we have with the ball at his feet. Taylor is more of a jack of all trades and 'does a job'.
DOnt know how anyone can prefer Taylor over Cort, for starters Cort is far more the agile player. Not taking anything away from Taylor because he has been fantastic all season! However when talking about the Championship....Cort all day long for me!
The only thing about Cort which sometimes unsettles me is that he doesn't look entirely comfortable when the ball is passed to him along the deck. No major slips ups yet on that front but his first touch does sometimes slip away from him slightly.

The legend, Rufus, was of that ilk, so Cort is in good company here...
Looking at his Wiki profile, he's had lots of experience at Championship level and 3 times has been purchased for over £1m, and at 32 is hardly past it. A real bargain as a free transfer. Taylor on the other hand has mainly played non league, barring suspensions and injury he'll find it hard to get back in.
Wasn't sure when we signed him but he's turned out to be one of my favourite players. Can count on one hand the number of times he's missed a header this season.
Have to give it to Cort though, came in and made the spot his own, an incredibly committed defender.
Think we need one more in the summer to join these three. I'm guessing SCP's got an idea of who he wants that to be already.

There was no bust up - Powell never spoke to Matt to tell him he was dropping him or his reasons.

ohhh matty taylor, matty taylor, beast beast beast!
That has a good ring to it!
Completely unbiased but we all agree with you.
