Promotion party on Monday?

  • Apologies if this has been repeated elsehwere, but we will be promoted at the final whistle on Monday if the following has happened:

    - Huddersfield fail to win tonight at Leyton Orient;
    - Huddersfield beat Sheffield Weds on Saturday;
    - Sheffield Weds fail to beat Oldham;
    - Charlton beat Oldham and Walsall.

    In the above scenario, Charlton would have 91 points whilst Sheff Weds and Huddersfield would only be able to reach maximum 90.

    Given that Sheffield Weds kick off at lunchtime, if there is a possibility of us clinching promotion on Monday then we will know it before kick-off making for an exciting afternoon for those of you going.
    Phew!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Huddersfield losing!
  • drawing now.

    would rather they get something from it, so that they are up for saturday. If they lose tonight they might throw in the towel
  • Hardly think they would throw the towel in Saturday. Local pride and to finish as high as possible are two key factors,however if they know there position with two games to go to then i can see them resting key players for the play offs. More importantly you want to go into the play offs with a bit of momentum and not stuttering.
  • 2-1 Hudders now.
  • The boy Jordan again ....
  • and again 3-1
  • That's alright. Oldham lost tonight and are in freefall. If we win there, which we should, and Huddersfield beat Wednesday we'll be 11 points clear of third place with just five to play. Almost home and dry.

    Orient 1 Huddersfield 3, that puts pay to this thread!
  • Still up assuming the rest of the above occurs AND Huddersfield fail to win at Bournemouth.

  • Could still happen as newyorker says.

    We win both our games = 91 points.
    Sheff Wed are on 77, lose at Hudds, draw with Oldham = 78 with 4 to play
    Hudds are on 74, beat Wednesday, draw with Bmouth = 78 with 4 to play

    Strong feeling on the Carlisle thread that up there would be very favourable for promotion/champions party, belting day out that will be, one way or another come to that!
  • I think we should keep this thread running/updated, promotion party Saturday week (perhaps), or is it a jinx?

    :)

    don't know if it's a jinx but this thread sounds complacent to me
  • We can be as complacent as we want - it doesn't affect the players and/or the management.

    That's just weird.
