  • We do have some panickers don't we? I hope the players
    dont read this lot.

One factor in March has been the wall to wall 2 games a week. We didnt cope with this well despite the bigger squad than many smaller clubs.

However take note from Leeds 2 years back. They had a real dip in form during this 2 game a week period. They did better when it got back to 1 game a game. We are several points ahead of where leeds were in that year so I'm still very confident.

Always said 92 points which still looks good; that means 10 points from 7 games - so no more than a mid table team would expect.

yes we went into march having already having a crammed fixture list in february, which we navigated well after a tough january, maybe it caught up a little bit, by all accounts we should get 3 wins and a draw from these games, that should do it.

I expect all of the top 4 to get stung with a dodgy result or 2, Sheffield united have not done much better in recent weeks and i expect the honeymoon period at massives for dave jones will burst by the time they go to huddersfield....we just need to focus on us, get it done and enjoy, remember how we got here in the first place!
  • I've just realised the meaning of the cryptic message from admin at the top of the forum: ''Things should be more stable now,''

That's starting from Orient next Sat, right?
  • And then it says...............

    "Can't blow it can we?".
We could but we won't. I think we'll be crowned champions with 2 or 3 games to spare. Some people on here need to get a grip and just grow some. I'm going to call out a couple of people. Ralphmilne, LenGlover. I'm sorry but both ridiculous posts imo and you do need to get a grip. There are a few reasons why this is a different Charlton team than other years. To name a few - Hamar, Solly, Morrison, Taylor, Cort, Wiggins, Green, Waggy, Stephens, Hollands, JJ, BWP, Yann. Look at all of those players. Immense. Probably the cream of L1. This group of players will not fail. Guaranteed. For all those doubters, come back and eat humble pie after Hartlepool on May 5.
  • If you're a miserable, half glass empty, depressive pessimist , you'll think we'll blow it.
If you're a cheerful, half glass full optimist, you'll think we'll be fine.
If your somewhere in the middle, you'll be confident we'll be fine, with maybe just a small doubt.
There isn't much more to it than that.

ORANGINA IS ON ME, BE COOL...

  • tell your bitch to stay cool

    Say bitch be cool ,

Now what would the coolest man on the planet say to our predicament

You can bet it would be the above
  • I'll be renewing my season tickets this coming week doubts or no doubts.
  • Im holding fire on booking a holiday in May until I'm 100% confident that we are not gonna be in the play-offs... thought I'd be able to book by now a couple of weeks ago but these b*stards are making me sweat on it and the flight prices are escalating as we speak! Two wins and hopefully I can book at Easter...
  • Sheff Utd can get a maximum of 97 points if they win all their games (including MK Dons away)

Sheff Wed can get a maximum of 95 points if they win all their games (inc Hudders away)

Huddersfield can get a maximum of 95 points if they win all their games

Meaning we need 16 points to win the title if everyone wins their games, which wont happen...around 13/14 is needed imo

  • We'll do it. We always knew we were gonna have an end of season wobble, it's just what we do. Need to keep perspective though, roll on Orient.

well Hudds and weds can't both win their game for a start ;)

12 points would be enough, in other words win all our home games and we will go up. unlikely to happen like that though!
  • Exactly what I mean, I'm going based on the amount of games not who plays who and what have you
  • No side is going to keep a high standard throughout the season. Look at Man City recently. We still win this league, but naturally fatigue and injuries will kick in at this stage of the season, making it that little bit harder. Calm down.
  • Look at the other leagues can Newcastle for example finish 3rd ?

We will be fine if your feeling the pressure then the players are too we need to give them the relaxed and inspiring atmosphere to get them over the line not the anxious moaning at every missed shot or misplaced pass

Coyr we will do it just believe and have faith

  • 7 points out of 12 at home would be poor. 4 points out of 9 away would also be poor. Thats 11 poor points making a total of 93. Promotion assured.
  • If you think we won't make it your in for some easy money. Sheff Unt 8-1 and Sheff wed 12-1 with Betfred. Orient about 6-1 to win Saturday. Double Orient with either of the two Sheffields for a double of between 63-1 and 84-1. Easy money for all the doubters.

Good logic - and none of the doubters will have the guts to risk a couple of quid on your proposition.
  • 8 points and we will take the title IMO.
  • Those who are being posistive about the run in are ignoring the form table. Which says on current form Charlton will fall short. From the last 8 games Charlton have taken 13pts, from the last five of those only 4pts. So how do those of you, who are so confidant account for that and what will change in the next 7 games to put the team back on track.
The actual performances on the pitch have been poor for the last 2 months and we have been lucky to win the number of games we have in that period.

  • Playing a lot of teams from the lower reaches, the work that has gone in will drive this team to succeed, Powell in his first crack at promotion wont let it happen...

Form is temporary.....plus most of the teams we are playing are not very good.

And four points from the last three games, which would give us ten points from the remaining seven, enough for promotion.

Yes we can all use statistics.
  • I love the panic in the posts

The other 2 or 3 teams involved firstly have to win 3 more games than us with 7 to go and we must lose the same amount , however 2 or the chasing 3 are playing eachother

    Fuck me get a grip

Yea get a grip everyone, of cause we are going up AS CHAMPIONS

82 from the last 39 is the best indicator

MS, not stalking you or anything but your observation was so lamentably saddening that I had a look through your previous comments, your really not thatnhappy with life, planned engineering works appeared the most positive this season, we seem to have gone from pre season "not impressed with the signings" to early games "were not gelling yet" to mid season "not our best performance" and now "poor for the past 2 months" you even feared the "West Ham will do a Charlton" I bet right now they wished they had and were 8 points clear instead of behind by a point albeit in a higher league.

Not digging you out and we all have differing views but blimey you come across as carrying the burden of life on your shoulders.

    .
  • Since when have the Addicks done anything the easy way?

It's just a ploy by CP and the board to keep it interesting right up to the end and to give false hope to the teams below that actually think they have a hope in hells chance of catching us.....................FACT!!!
  • Can we blow it? Yes of course we can.
Will we blow it? Nah, although I fully expect our lead to be cut back a bit more before the end of the season. We were never 17 points or whatever it was better than the rest of the league anyway. We will get over the line, it'll just be much tougher than we thought a month ago.
