I think you will find that a lot has been lost in the translation here. What he really said was, well the other lot that I never wanted to leave couldn't pay me the big wedge that I wanted, but this lot did. Forget the jumpers for goalposts guys, for football read money !
It's sad that anyone has any interest in what footballers say. They all talk up their current employers and support and they all want a better and bigger employer. Only idiots take any comfort or get irritated by their comments. It's a game. We've got better and cheaper midfielders now, all good.
if charlton fans themselves think that then you need to take a long hard look at yourselves. im all for a jokey piss take of our fans every now and then, cos we have got some characters but the constant criticism of our own is wearing really thin.
anyway f*ck it, semedo and his 'better' bunch will be enjoying games at Swindon and Bury, we'll be having it up at St Andrews and Elland Road.
We shouldn't criticise Semedo for supporting his current team - if Michael Morrison had been asked a similar question asking him to compare Charlton with Wednesday I suspect he'd come up with much of the same.
What's amazing is that the Wendies haven't worked out the connection between all their complaints about creativity from their midfield and Semedo. Semedo plays best in a 4-5-1 or 3-5-2 formation - and you will definitely lose something going forward if he is a central midfielder in a 4-4-2. We found this out through experience.
I see Semedo as a bit of a child with his approach to life to be honest. He loved it when he was here, and said he wanted to stay forever. Then Weds offered him a big contract and we didn't so he went there and now he loves it there. I don't think it's malicious on his part, I think he's just genuinely happy wherever he goes. Kind of an 'oooh, cake!' approach to life. You could probably shine a torch at a wall and he'd try to grab the light. Like you do with a cat.
I always saw him as a simple bloke who tried hard and gave us someone to cheer when we were playing badly. He's doing the same job for Weds and good for him. I place about as much stock in his words of wisdom as I do in a toddler's views on global warming though

I make you about right GM. I'm sure he really did enjoy his time here, I'm sure he's enjoying his time with the Massives. He'd be equally happy at Accrington Stanley or Barcelona just as long as the fans liked him as much as we and Wednesday did/do.
I hate to say it but with the ongoing debate about two creative centre mids vs one creator and a defensive one, he would fit in well as the latter. That said, his time with the Addicks is been and gone, I'd always give him a cheer at the Valley, but that's the past. Onwards and upwards.
Yes, big up your current club but don't belittle your former club who gave you POTY award and big wages. He was adored by most Charlton fans and that is how he repays them. Jog on then mate!
He's at a bigger team, good luck to him. Never wanted to see him in a Charlton shirt, never embarrassed about him playing for us: that's a big positive compared to the copious shite we've had in recent years. Still I can't believe how someone so average ever earns that much. But again good luck to him.
The name helps, sounds like he should be earning more than the average L1 player...oh yes, Ronaldo is his mate too so think they might have played together at some stage in some capacity!
It's fine "bigging" your current team up, but you dont have to be directly derogatory to your ex employer, much like the club he plays for it lacks class
Agree with Bubble. His comments were hardly professional. Belittling us is a kick in the teeth. I lost respect for him as soon as he left us due to his kissing the badge antiques.
He was a fundamental part of the worst charlton side in history - not much more needs to be said other than just wtach him get rumbled by their new manager and be out of the side come the start of next season.

charlton fans in precious shocker!
Forget the jumpers for goalposts guys, for football read money !
2) who cares?
He was the best of a bad bunch when he was here and maybe next to Hollands he would be ok but I still prefer Dale long term
'better fans'

Semedo already had family in Sheffield before he signed, so it was a no-brainer for him to sign for Wednesday when they matched his Charlton salary.
And anyway, playing for Sheff W is his job - of course he's going to say what the Wendies want to hear.... they are his audience now.
It's not that he's writing an article or his autobiography, just answering specific loaded questions by a local hack journalist.
No point some of us acting all wounded, just because a former employee declares his loyalty to his new firm.
I have every reason not to respect him after this interview.
Who cares what he say's ?
he's MASSIVE Now !
