Kimbo - I live in Kenya and the way that the tea that is sometimes made here is very different. The leaves can be boiled with milk and ginger is often added. It is interesting, but very a long way from the cuppa we know and love. However, if you ask for English tea you will find that people will oblige. By the way, Kenyan tea leaves are the best in the world, giving a reddish brown tea full of flavour. That is not the case throughout East Africa. In Uganda I found the tea to be pale brown and pallid. Don't know what it is like in Zanzibar.
In two weeks' time, I have a week where I will be in Jakarta on Monday, Singapore on Tuesday, Hong Kong on Wednesday and Thursday and Kuala Lumpur on Friday. "Lucky you", say some. Take a look at a map.
I have lived here for the last six years. I have my own project management company and just about manage to stay afloat. It is a good country to live in, but it takes some adapting to.
Good things: Weather, the people (generally very accepting of foreigners and happy to help), low cost of living, cheap holidays at the coast
Bad things: Corruption, driving standards (they are just bad, bad, bad), the time it takes to get things done, local television, did I mention corruption?
Things I miss: Watching CAFC, the BBC, a decent pint
