Many years ago early - mid 90s, I had to work in B'ham for a couple of days, Tues & Weds, drove up early tuesday morning left mid afternoon to return to London to pick up my mates to drive down to Portsmouth for a night game. Back to London after the game and then back to B'ham for the morning. The things you do for a match.

Pre-season 2000, We had Exeter on Monday, Plymouth on Wednesday and Torquay on Friday. I took three half days and got the overnight train back each time and went straight to work after, sod doing that again!
I once did Southend friendly on a Friday night. 1984 I think. This might not seem too far as I lived in Charlton at the time but was heading to Goran Haven near St Austell in an Allaggro with a dodgy head gasket. Took 23 hrs before we got there. It just seemed a natural thing to do at the time.

Terrific line there TT, a natural thing to do. Must remember that when I get questioned about travelling around the country/europe watching Charlton

I am with you there Elfs.
Best I have done by Motorbike was the Scottish pre-season tour in 1991 I think. For the next biking match I fancy getting on the bike and doing Marseilles or Monaco or Inter or....
Admittedly not all Charlton but this comes to mind. Easter 68 Good Friday - home game, I think Saturday - Blackpool away (train) Sunday night - overnight train to Cornwall Monday - St Austell for Cornish Senior Cup final and 3rd/4th place final Monday night - overnight train back Tuesday - afternoon train to Rotherham, back on overnight train Wednesday - 0830 in the office
I'm sure we lost both games. Pasties on Monday were good, though.
2 yrs ago me & a "mate" (not now though, but thats another story) went to Tranmere & I dropped him off in Tenby (S Wales) on the way home.................home being Swanley !!
95-96 Season Huddersfield away by coach ,Oldham by train ,Liverpool by train and coach followed by Portsmouth by train. Four away games in 11days no idea of mileage.

Did all of those as well in the same mode of transport!
Also went to see Supergrass on the Thursday night and Pulp on the Friday inbetween Liverpool and Portsmouth. The trip to Oldham was really bad,no end of problems on the trains that day.
Living Here in perth, Western Australia, it is quite a long way back to se7!!! (bit of an understatment)
However, i have done the trip a few times, as well as my housemate @ozaddick doing it now for Bournemouth and Colchester at home. These trips obviously take in family holidays and the like as well so not just for watching Charlton play.
Although after listening to us beat Chesterfield on Tuesday night, I have took the plunge and have booked a one off trip back for the last game of the season against the Monkey Hangers. 8998 miles Just for football, that is most I have/would done!!!

Good on you Eirik, let's all hope for a day to remember.
Cheers @TellyTubby I am sure it will be a day to remember!
By my reckoning, being 33, 34 going in to next season. I have only seen us win the league once in my lifetime! Can't miss seeing this (no matter what leagus it is!) as I will be in my fifties next time. And hopefully still here!!!!!!!!!!

A feature in the programme or website would be good too.

Personal best is the pre-season tour of Sweden and Finland, I'd guess a total mileage of about 3,800 over six days
Went to every game in 81/82 season (one of the most boring ever) while living in Nottingham. Certainly clocked up a few miles that season
