They're playing on Sunday, and United doesn't have a game midweek, so if we get wins over Rochdale and Tranmere, we will be on 74, United on 62, so a draw is good for us leaving us 11 points ahead having played one more. Any less than 6 points in our 2 games then I'd reluctantly go for a MASSIVE win...
I would prefer a draw bit if someone has to win i want it to be utd, i dont mind them challenging us for the title i just want us guaranteed Championship football next season, so want 3rd place down to fail plus the wendies fans, cant wish anything but misery after there post match reaction at hillsborough this season.
A draw is ideal, will keep Wednesdays winless run going and hopefully our lead will be extended before the game. As for United, they are on a great run and after next weekend will have played us, Huddersfield and Wednesday twice so if they do beat the Massives, they will really believe they can catch us.
If Wednesday lose then Mugson is toast. Would prefer they won though, no threat to us any more and we deserve to be Champions. Be happy with a draw too.
Hopefully Evans gets a red and a 3 match ban with Wednesday winning as I can see the Blades catching us up. We haven't been playing well for a good few months now.

Do not mind if Sheff Utd win and extend the gap between top two and third place. I don't think it matters whether we come first or second to be honest, sure first would be nice but it's one aim remember. Also someone mentioned earlier in the thread that winning the league would help us for next season, well Brighton seem to be a good few points behind runners up Southampton in the league above so not so sure that matters.
We play 2 games before the Steel City derby so potentially the table can be: Charlton Athletic: P32, Pts 74 Sheff Utd: P30, Pts 62 Sheff Wed: P32, Pts 57
going into the derby. In that situation I would definitely want a Wednesday win as we'd still be 14 points clear of them with a game in hand but also 12 points clear of Utd with them only having 1 game in hand on us, so 9 points clear minimum.
That's the ideal situation for me but relies on us winning our games v Rochdale and Stevenage.
I know this might be a little counterintuitive, but statistically speaking a win for Wednesday probably improves Charlton's chances of BOTH automatic promotion AND of winning the league. We should all be keeping fingers crossed for the Owls.
