that Nicky Law is the biggest waste of talent in football. What is he doing playing Scottish Div 2 football for?!
£££
more than a champ club?
As I understand it, the highest wage among the players currently at Ibrox, relates to a player who TUPE'd across his salary and is rumoured to earn in the region of 10 -12k per week. Among the players signed more recently, Jon Daly is alleged be on 5k per week. I think Law may be on 7k per week but could be wrong.
Law is an excellent footballer and could certainly play at a higher level. As to why he signed, well whatever else he achieves he can say he played for a great club with great fans in a great stadium and had the honour and privilege of wearing the shirt of The Rangers.

The only player from pre-admin that could possibly be on £12k p/w is Lee Wallace and I highly doubt he got that after signing from pre-admin Hearts.
Lee McCulloch signed for Rangers from an EPL team in a transfer that was worth 2.25 million. How much would you say he eans @se9addick ?
He was on big money before admin (around £15k I believe) but then offered to play for free once the club entered administration. Clearly he isn't playing for free, but he's 35 now so I highly doubt he's on huge money. that move you're referring to was six years ago and from Wigan. Saying that I was astonished to learn how much McCoist was/is being paid.
McCuloch will go down in history as a Rangers legend (in the true sense of the word) whilst "fans" like Naismith will never be able to show their faces at Ibrox again.
The move was some time ago and he probably signed another contract at a later date, nonetheless the transfer will indicate a level of potential salary. I believe he earns a contract that was agreed pre 2012 and TUPE'd across, therefore he would probably be 31/32 when he signed his current deal with then top flight & European competition playing Rangers. On this basis a figure of 10-12k would not seem unrealistic.
They were hurling money into the abyss last season (during a transfer ban). Frankie Sandaza moved from and SPL team to fourth division Rangers for 5 times his salary. It just seems reckless. I suppose the difference with this year's outfit is that they look the part. Wouldn't surprise me if they could win the SPL with this team.

As a Rangers supporter I can't understand the transfer policy and I think Ally McCoist has shot himself in the foot. Originally the plan was to use predominantly young players (supplememted by experience where required) from the clubs academy who, as full time pros with the best training facilities in the country should have been able to navigate at least the bottom two divisions.
However the squad, as you say is now at least the second best in Scotlans and certainly has the second highest wage bill. Guys like Nicky Law and John Daly are good players but they're essentially English Championship players who are playing in the Conference South. It's unnecessary and surely leading us down the path that we trod before of throwing money at anything that moves without much thought, and this time there's no European football to justify it.
The Rangers squad was asked on Thursday to consider pay cuts of around 15% until summer 2015 as cost-cutting begins in earnest at Ibrox.
The request, put to the players as a possible alternative to some having to be sold, was widely rejected.
Manager Ally McCoist was told by chief executive Graham Wallace earlier this week he needs to cut his budget.
The players' wage bill at the League One side currently stands between £6m and £7m per annum.
A club spokesman told BBC Scotland: "The manager and chief executive continue to examine how Rangers can live within their means."
And last month Wallace admitted that the League One club's cost base was too high, "even for a top-flight club".
Wallace, a former chief operating officer at Manchester City, arrived at the club in November and is undertaking a comprehensive overhaul of the Ibrox finances, with consultant Philip Nash brought in to aid the process.
Last week, McCoist signed off on a pay cut of around 50%, which he agreed to in October.
In July, Rangers posted a £14m operating loss over a 13-month period, although the club has no bank debt.
Wallace told shareholders at the club's annual general meeting on 19 December that Rangers would require more investment if they were to compete with Celtic on their return to the Scottish Premiership, although he insisted there was no immediate threat of the £22.2m raised in a share-issue a year ago running out.
"We've got a cost-base that is out of alignment with our ability to generate income," Wallace said the day after a fiery AGM.
Absolutely crazy given what's happened before. 6-7m a year to win divisions 2 and 3. Madness.
As a Rangers supporter I'm pretty horrified at what is being spent. McCoist is just being given carte Blanche and currently the recruitment strategy is all wrong.
Lots of the players being brought aren't good enough to compete with Celtic and/or in Europe, but they are good enough to keep young players out of the side. These players are unnecessary, with a talented youth team, training full time with the best training facilities in the country the bottom two tiers would have been a formality. There is absolutely no need for the wage bill as it stands.

Agents, Directors, Chairman, even the Manager are at it.
They are all at it.
The supporters should've been in a position now where they shift this lot out and take control.

Rangers fans are far too factionalised to ever do something like that - they make our supporters look like one big happy family !
The footy in Scotland was borderline-dull before Rangers were put in L3.
Now, it is a total non-event. I don't know why the media continue to cover the likes of East Stirling, when the plight of Hyde is much more interesting.
Anyway, I guess when they get independence we won't have to keep "token-ing" them in footy/weather/travel updates. They will be too busy living it up, spending all that extra money they will have due to not being in the UK.
It's a constant source of annoyance to me when the BBC News football coverage is limited only to the Premier League and the SPL, but STILL manages to factor in Rangers.
Honestly, I've seen them moving from Premier League/SPL/Rangers coverage to bloody hockey, with about 20 people in the entire stadium watching it. Maybe this post is for a different thread but, Grrrrrrr.
I do not really see the problem. If one of the big 4 in the English Premier League went into admin and forced to start again in League 2 they would be factored in as well.

Anyway, it's not McCoist's fault. He didn't look at the wages at all in the contract.
He's bloomin' lucky he's being paid at all. If I were Rangers I'd have put in nil, as he didn't even look.

If this was Celtic their fans would've rallied, got organised and eventually sorted this shambles out.
It is like a carcass being picked off by vultures.
nb: Without the fans there is no club, no plc, nothing.
