  • As far as I'm concerned, the N Block Ultra's will be bigging up Alan Pardew and when he emerges from the tunnel. There's going to be a resounding chorus of... 'ALAN PARDEW's RED n WHITE ARMY'
  • We can clap him after... if we get the win...............

the most important thing is to get the atmosphere up and going........ BIG Time.... and keep it going.......
  • having read that.......... F$^% HIM.........

and dont forget he tried to finish us off in the window.....

    comev on you reds..........
  • Nothing must distract us from getting behind our team and our man, Pards.

Mr Curbishley is plotting OUR downfall now.

people forget that. There is no room for sentiment in football.

Well said Large. I reckon your stance on this whole subject has been spot on since Curbs took the job.
  • I certainly won't be booing anybody.

I'll be playing it by ear regarding applause. Peacock and Curbishley are Charlton legends but we need to be focused on burying them on Saturday.

You're coming round Len. At last!
There will be plenty of opportunities in the future for us to acknowledge Curbs and his efforts for us. However Saturday at The Valley is neither the time nor the place.
  • AND THIS COMMENT :

“When I was at Charlton I didn't take any work home but now I do. My boy is a West Ham fan and my wife was brought up in Wilson Road, beside the Bobby Moore statue, so it's all around me.'

Bah ! I remember his son running around Wembley in Charlton garb. Fickle these WestHam fans ain't they. Plastic the lot of 'em. So he's working harder at his beloved West Ham is he. Shame it's making sod all difference. Grrrrrrr !
  • I support Charlton.

I don't support those who come & go.

Anyone wearing a Charlton kit/badge will get my complete devotion on Saturday.

    CAFC for life!

  • Large, I think a lot of this is being put out to pamper to the unhappy 'ammer fans.
  • I respect people who don't want to clap him. But because he now wants to send us down and keep West Ham up is understandable. I really don't have a problem with that. I don't think we should be sentimental about it but clapping him gives us the edge. It shows him what he's missing and that will make him more miserable as a large chunk of Hamsters fans already want him to have the last cigarette and the blindfold. Polite and respectful to him. Large and Raucous to Pards. That will maximise the effect.
  • the one thing i don't want is a:

"you should have stayed at Charlton" chant.
  • oh no! it's the dreaded vote of confidence!
  • Totally agree with KBslittlesis - no favours from him, no favours from us.

It's gonna seem mighty strange though...

    i agree.
maybe a "you should've stayed in new zealand" is more appropriate.
  • Stoney silence from me I'm afraid.

I gave Curbs the respect of a good clap away from The Valley (which he deserved), but that's that as far as I'm concerned.

As Pardoo said 'Maybe they've been too nice here in the past'

As for Merv, I clapped him when he left, as I was bloody glad he went!!
  • 'The King is dead, long live the King'

    Eh, Roy King??
  • first time we will have seen him back since he left. got to give him a swift clap then move on.
those that don't want to clap then fine but too boo him would be a bit foolish. but i definitely wont be chanting his name! Pards is the man now!
  • The club is bigger than any person past or present, he and his crew are the opposition. End of, CAFC all the way, he had a send off at The Valley and OT and if the circumstances were different he would be welcome back. BUT we need the points as much as WHU.

BDL as has been expressed keep it as simple as it always is for any visiting team, we welcome the players, management, supporters and directors of WHU, no names no pack drill. Respect given... game on no special announcements or platitudes.

  • Do we need to discuss this? Will it make any difference? Best just to forget he's there. When was the last time Curbs won an away game anyway?
  • the law of the sod can be a real bitch!
