Here's an idea for all you worriers. Take a piece of paper and draw a vertical line down the middle. Put + above the left hand column, and - above the right. Now using only things that you have witnessed, not just thoughts that frighten you put down all the plusses from this season, and all the actual minuses ( not your fears ). If you are honest with yourself in what you write, you will know what is going to happen.

Does the line have to be straight? What if the plus goes into the minus? What if my bloody pencil breaks or i run out of ink? Ok Ok i will do it..........
Obviously we are still very capable of messing it up but the teams below us don't seem to be the most consistent other than probably Sheff Utd. Everytime we've dropped points this seasons so far the ones below us have as well.
My biggest concern is our home form and whether we can deal with teams coming here for a point and frustrating us.
Go on bbc.co.uk and do the Predictor thing for league 1 if you get a spare half hour. Even being as negative as I can, I've still got us going up comfortably.

You have ink in your pencil?
I must confess to secret fears that we can still stuff it up but 30+ years of supporting this club makes that pretty inevitable really.
IF you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on Green, If you can trust Hamer when all men doubt him, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, For a mere 15 seconds on the Football League show Or being called lucky, don't believe in luck, And yet don't boast too much, nor feel too low:
If you can deal with "our away support is S***" comments and keep your virtue, ' Or walk with Massives - nor lose the common touch, if neither Spanners nor Stripy Nigels can hurt you, If all fans count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving season With 46 games of distance run, Yours is the Championship and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Charlton fan, my son!

steve ...pull yourself together ,we have SCP its no problem !
and as for the above ...it deserves a slot in the matchday prog or even a little pre recorded half time slot
ps do you like kipling ? no i have never kippled !
Perhaps we need to get the bloke who does the music at the Valley to play 'Im a believer' by the Monkees after Saturdays game , to restore a bit of faith.
funnily enough i got a lot of heart from the Fulham game .We lost 4-0 but we played just as well as them ,the only difference being the keepers and better finishing ,i think we and the squad can take a can take a lot from that.
I think we tried to play a bit more 'expansively' on tuesday in the knowledge that Stephens was back and that we had been 'grinding' wins lately. I commented after 15 minutes that we were having far more possession and it was looking too easy whereas normally we start up against it and get better, scoring mid way through first half. I said it's worrying and so it proved as the game had that odd feel about it. Stephens had nobody to pick out really. Bring Waggy and Haynes or BWP back and we'll be fine. Do that and i'll go for a 5-1 win Saturday.
I'm not bothered at all. This is a different Charlton. We are going to get 108 points and win the league by 14 points. Nothing at all to get worried about.
Not going up now after this start would be absolutely shattering. If I'm honest with myself I can't really see us faltering but I suspect that we will have to struggle right up to the wire. Like others have said though the little red Charlton supporter sitting on my shoulder fills me with doubt and angst. Bricking it.
really can't get that worked up about it - i remember when i was about 14 and we lost to Portsmouth in mid march in 1985 at Sehurst in our promotion season and the whole day and evening was geared around mt birthday - pre match meal, evening out with family and friends etc. The loss absoulutely devastated me and had to put on a brave face. Now, i'm in a 'zone' where i love it when we do well and win but can just switch off it when we lose. Finally, i have achieved football supporting heaven. My dad cannot switch off and he was convinced that BWP was off on tuesday, that kermo ruins all strikers he plays with and the board had let us down by not buying a ready made striker in the window. By Saturday, with a win he'll be assembling all the positives to over inflate the victory to a point where we should get promotion easy, this year and next. How have i achieved this perfect football supporting state as it can't just be an age thing? I don't know, maybe i don't care enough?
I think that's the only way to survive being a Charlton fan, Dan!
I know exactly what NSS is feeling and I suspect he is definitely not alone. However, I find it impossible not to be positive about our club at the moment and as such I have decided that the last few games were our 'blip' where we had to grind out results and didn't resemble our free-scoring selves earlier in the season. Following a bit of readjustment by CP, I expect the team to click anew and go back to dominating the opposition and giving their goalies a back ache from picking the ball out of the net (mostly due to the effects of an in-form BWP). Onwards and upwards!
We are definitely going up this season . The thing is that any impending success can bring on bouts of nervousness amongst certain people, Andy Murray for example. I just hope that any hyper-neurosis amongst the crowd doesn't infect the players. As for me, I'd be very concerned if we were in 24th spot
Firstly the worrying part: I f we finish this season like we finished last I think we will finish 4th. The positive part is that we have a better squad than last season and our form was truely atrocious from about this time last year. We may have the odd blip but we have put ourselves in a position where we can afford to have the odd blip. The Bury game actually convinced me more that we will win this league- they way we pulled the rabbit out of the bag is what winners do. Can't see this team losing more than 3 games out of the 18 remaining and we are 10 points clear!

I've done I think the last 18 or so games in a row. It's the first time in ages I've actually enjoyed going to games and am looking forward to the next one by Monday. Despite that I still won't believe it's done till my winnings are sitting safely in my account!
I'm also worried, I only get to away games so don't see the team as much as a lot of you but from doing the stats I do notice what Lifers are saying and marking and the this is how I see it:
Hamer - flaps a lot , which many do not like but has kept quite few clean sheets, is Sullivan any better? Solly,Morrison,Taylor, Wiggins - wonderful with able stand ins of Cort and Evina Jackson - tending to fade out a bit but with such a good understanding with Wiggy they provide a good defensive & attacking unit on the left. Green - his marks are going down and remarks are getting negative, why not try Waggy back there, we then get the advantage of the Solly/Waggy effect. Central Midfield: this is the crux of the team and we haven't got it right, maybe we must go back to Hollands/Stephens and let them resurrect their understanding, if not we have plenty of other options. Kermorgant - he gets high marks, he works hard he heads the ball, but those headers/flicks don't seem to lead to anything, time to try someone else, maybe back to Hayes. BWP - needs to be back in the team and to score a goal, to do that he needs service which I hope Stephens and Hayes would give him Subs - Sullivan and Cort plus three, those three depend on who is playing, but I would like to see Hayes given a good run out in place of Kermorgant and Haynes for BWP, at least 30mins and not in the same match.
I don't know what it is but the team just aren't playing like they were last year and they need to find that consistency to see us over the line and promotion.

I can't even bring myself to watch that Jeff Stelling show, in case we get a negative mention.
It's doing my head in.

even thought about writing to the powers that be asking whether div 3 can revert back to 2 points for a win until the end of the season

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
In all seriousness I still think we will go up as Champions, but not with anything like the current gap.
Nice standard 3-0 on Saturday to calm the nerves please.
