It's sad that what was once one of the greatest achievements an English club could get has been so diminished.
The fa cup used to really mean something, at one stage even more so than wining the league.
Now teams like palace, who should never have won it but because a lot of teams don't take the competition seriously they did, are instead of celebrating a famous cup triumph they're protesting.
All because they are more bothered about what lower level European cup group stage place they will get. Just another example of the sad state of football.

if the top teams don't take it seriously, how comes they have won it about 20 of the last 24 times

They're probably protesting to get media attention.

Controversial Opinion: Winners of the League/ FA Cup should qualify for the Europa Conference League. 7th (6th) should be given the Europa League spot.
Parish is blaming Forest now, needs a long hard look at himself before he blames anyone else.
He'd have probably gained a lot more respect had he come out and held his hands up and said 'we're aware we fucked up here, but equally we feel the rules are stupid and we have appealed' then leave it at that. Continually doing public interviews blaming everyone but himself and his own staff is just making him look more of an idiot.
Funny to see how pissed off they are after winning the FA Cup.
Pathetic sized protest too. We had more people than that outside The Valley against Roland.
We were protesting about the existence and future of our club, they are moaning about which European comp they play in. Not comparable in the slightest.

They were both fan protests about something that fans care about, so yes I can state that there's looked pathetic in size and we had more in the car park.
I was chatting to a couple of Palarse fans yesterday at my restaurant (pleasant people although seriously misguided by supporting Palarse). I did keep referring to them as Glaziers and took great delight in saying that their club fucked up regarding Europe. Their response was that they were sitting in a no mans land in the league and never thought they would make the final which i don’t think is a good enough reason for lodging an appeal. I also said that if they do play in Europe then there would be a greater chance of them getting relegated of which I added that see you in the championship. I also mentioned that I was at their cup final and they asked me who I supported. They weren’t surprised when I said Citeh!

I think we should support the fans of our neighbours. It's not their fault their club is run by half-wits.
So, as a much younger neighbour of the mid-nineteenth century Croydon dwellers, we should set about organising our own, supportive protest.
I suggest that, until UEFA cave in to their demands, we should organise a peaceful protest at every game. What could be a better demonstration of the brotherhood of football?
They claim to be 164 years old. So, every game this season, we should stand and give a minute's applause in the 164th minute.
Palace are expected to take their case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas).
"At the end of the day it's an injustice, just by a couple of admin errors. We qualified for it," Nick Philpot from the Red and Blue Review podcast said at the march.
"We won the cup - it should be we go into it without any question about it.
"You're penalising the entire club and the fanbase. Why would you do that?"
Last week, Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish called the decision "a bad day for football" and "a terrible injustice".
"We've been locked out of a European competition on the most ridiculous technicality," he said. "Supporters of all clubs should be devastated for us."

I'd maybe have a tad bit of sympathy if it wasn't an oversight made by their owners, and are deflecting on to UEFA because they know of general supporter hate towards governing bodies.

That's generally how these things work. What do they expect UEFA to do, ban the Palace admin person who didn't check the emails from Europe instead?

(Sherwood Forest is closer to Sheffield than Nottingham)
I am going to march around my outside tap

I really hope that helps.
