I can only imagine the level of outrage their ultras will unleash with the decision. In the form of some fetching banners and tifos10

Im confused by the decision.
They couldn't take part in the Europa League because of Lyon and the multi-club rules, they're allowed to take part in the Conference League, but Brondby remain in the competition, and the multi-club issue remains?12 -
Absolutely spot on. Most artificial club going yet they somehow delude themselves that they’re a proper club and traditional. . Wankers to a man.MrLargo said:
I'm repeating myself as I say the same every time the oldest club thing comes up. Their club historian said it's nonsense, when the story first broke there was some stuff from their club historian in the 40's that said there's no formal connection between the 1905 formed club and the older club from the same area. It's two separate clubs that played in the same area at different times. But they've decided to stick it on their shirts and on their website and if they keep peddling the lie for long enough it will become the accepted truth. Benfica's nickname, Barcelona's shirt, their real history is being a club that's desperate to invent an identity for itself. In trying to do that, they just make themselves more fake.Karim_myBagheri said:
So many other fans have no idea of the history of that club. Not suggesting it's their fans fault it's their owners over the years. Summer holidays though. Not sure they can all meet up and sort out a banner as their main "lad" is away with his parents for three weeks in Tuscany.AllHailTheHen said:I can only imagine the level of outrage their ultras will unleash with the decision. This would be an appropriate cover..._MrDick said:What I’ve heard is that although they’ve been thrown out of the Europa League, they’re gonna give them the chance to represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest

Correct it for you 😉
You had one job last season, but your gk had to got and take karate classes before the Palace game.3 -

Remember: Brighton will (apparently) stand to gain as Fabian Hurzeler’s team finished eighth. If Palace’s appeal if rejected by Uefa, Brighton could be handed a Conference League spot.

They'll probably win the thing now and have a European trophy over us0

This is the issue. Look at the other teams who are qualified for the conference league, it’s mostly pub teams. We’d have a chance of making the quarters this season if we were in it. I fear this is the worst case scenariocharlton_hero said:They'll probably win the thing now and have a European trophy over us2 -
Until a big team in Europa screw up and drop into the Conference in the playoff knockout gamesJamAddick said:

It was even in a BBC article recently. First time I ever complained to the BBC and to be fair to them they then removed it from the article.11 -

Palace fans plan Centenary Project28th January 2004By Guardian SportThe Crystal Palace Fans Centenary Project (CPfCP), met on Monday to look at ways for the fans to celebrate the club's 100th anniversary in 2005.Less than a decade after Crystal Palace fans feared their financially stricken club would cease to exist, they can now look back on its 100-year history and a bright future. The CPfCP is an independent voluntary group that wants the fans to have freedom to chose how they mark and celebrate the centenary. At Croydon Town Hall on Monday, around 20 fans young and old met to discuss centenary celebration ideas.Ideas included a set of commemorative gates and merchandising, including a centenary kit, a museum and a DVD celebrating the club's history. The meeting concluded with an agreement to hold a second meeting early next month at the Town Hall. For more information on CPfCP call 07974 092028.4

Record your memories of football club
10th March 2005EAGLES fans are being urged to help compile an oral history of the club to mark its centenary.
The Crystal Palace Fans Centenary Project will create a virtual museum of recorded reminiscences and images available on a website.
The project received a £50,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and now organisers are looking to train up interviewers to help fans commit their memories to tape.
Project chairman Don Madgwick said: "People talking about their memories and experiences is far more evocative than a dry history book."
A training day will take place tomorrow at Croydon Town Hall, Catherine Street, Croydon.
Call Chris on 07930 402580 for information.

Parrish's interview on Sky is embarrassing. 164 years of history etc. From the venue of the Club World Cup. No doubt he has paid for his ticket. No sympathy at all.5

This is a Charlton Website so many will crack one off in celebration at their down grading but Steve Parish has worked wonders for that football club over a couple of decades while we had chancers like Matt Southall trying to screw the club and sack good Charlton staff.
Now that was effing embarrassing.3 -
On appeal they’ll get reinstated. The independent body will probably see there’s no link between the two clubs anymore.
Either way it’s ruining their transfer plans I’d imagine.
Hopefully Guehi and Eze will be off for starters.1 -
You could also argue that it was Zaha that got them into the PL and kept them there for long enough to settle in. Do that when there seems to have been successive seasons where there has always been at least 3 worse teams, a model which Man Utd, Spurs and West Ham seem to have adopted, then you sort of wonder what Parish has actually done. Obviously, off the pitch the improvements to Selhurst have been amazing…soapboxsam said:Rock Spectacle said:Parrish's interview on Sky is embarrassing. 164 years of history etc. From the venue of the Club World Cup. Bucking the trend but I have sympathy.Players and fans are penalised because of others.More though how is the punishment just ? Demotion to a different competition feels wrong if the multi ownership is such a bad thing. If it’s wrong the sanction should be expulsion and the ownership forbidden.3

I 100% concur with that argument - and it absolutely applies to 91 of the current 92 league clubs.valleynick66 said:Bucking the trend but I have sympathy.Players and fans are penalised because of others.More though how is the punishment just ?
