Wouldn't it be good to show both teams our support, couldn't the club organise a trip incorporating chesterfield on tues, b&b then upto Manchester for the youth game and home! B cracking couple of days.
Just got home and have to say it was a most enjoyble game. Both our central defenders were really struggling in the last 10 minutes or so. Harry Lennon going off injured/knackered and the impressive Semi Ajayi looking out on his feet as well, which allowed The Spuds to get up a head of steam for practicaly the only time in the match. Very sweet free kick for the winner from the sub Oliver Muldoon and hey presto, justice was done, as we certainly were the better side over the 90 minutes...the lads went crazy with delight as it flew past the startled Spuds keeper (Billy Grainger) and again a few moments later at the final whistle! Glad I went it was an entertaing evening. Ray Clemence......Pat Jennings.....Simon Webster....Les Ferdinand........as well as CP were all in attendence.
Great result from the boys tonight. A stunning free kick to win it and we were the better side overall. MOG, glad to see you making use of our Tweeting tonight. It's not half hard on the old fingers out there in the cold!
Fantastic result and delighted for the youngsters. Sounds like they enjoyed themselves at the final whistle & so they should! Shame I have not long finished work as these have been great games to watch in the past. Well done to all who got down there, including the Spurs "ultras"!
Chesterfield/Manchester double sounds tempting now COYR!
Just got back - not a classic but absorbing game. Quite even first half, we shaded the second and created the best chances- defence looked very solid - Poyet good on the ball - number 8 good- number 5 has a hell of a kick on him. Piggot should have scored- waited for goal to open up when a quick toe poke would probably have done the trick. Last 10 minutes, we seemed to tire more thqan they did and I feared the worse but we won a free kick on the break, central and just outside the area and an excellent goal from the lad Muldoon.
Spurs no7 reminded me of Warwick Davies rather than Beckham. Spurs supporters were very vocal. It was great to see the delight of the boys at the end. Yes, very good to be a Charlton fan at the moment.

SO glad we managed to get to the game tonight - thoroughly enjoyable 92 minutes and a fantastic 93rd ! Well done all the lads.
Couldn't get a team sheet so apart from Poyet & Jordan, didn't know the names but as Seth stated earlier, our no 8 was something special ...but they all played their part in a well deserved win.
Feel proud that we've contributed to the ongoing development of the Academy , albeit in a small way & wish Paul, Steve, Rhys and all the lads every success in the future, starting at Old Trafford.
Also amongst the crowd were Tony Jimenez , SCP ,Keith Peacock and Peter Varney all sitting together.
A very enjoyable evening , particularly impressed with Morgan Fox (MOTM) , Tariq Holmes ,Harry Gerard who showed some nice touches before being subbed , Diego Poyet and Calum Harriot when he came on .
Oliver Muldoon's free kick was also a bit special.A well deserved victory .
Tremendous stuff tonight and glad to see Muldoon smash another one in. After his screamer of a free-kick in the league v West Ham in December, I can very much confirm he was doing a Johnnie Jackson before it was called a Johnnie Jackson!
Hope to bring the live audio coverage to OT. Who needs MUTV eh?
I remember seeing the Youth team played Man U not long after we came back; Boyer in the team and Phil Neville on their right wing....crowd was around 2,000? Others will fill in the details?

An evening on where demand through the turnstiles, nearly ended in carnage. One awful crush trying to get into the west stand that night. How anyone did not get hurt, god only knows.
I would imagine Man Utd away is propabaly as tough a game as we could get but from what I saw last night the lads have a chance. They are a solid well organised side with some quality.
Fantastic result, but does it remind you of anything ? The other side looks slick with their passing, but the defence holds firm and does not concede. Suddenly up steps a young lad to hammer a free kick into the net, and we win 1-0. Shows us a number of things, first of all there is a winning mantra being coached right through the Club which will help the youngsters when they are ready to slide into the first team squad. Secondly it shows that the Club recognises the importance of developing young lads through, and importantly offering professional contracts to those who shine.
Once again the new owners have shown me that they have a long term plan for success, and at the moment it's working very well.
'Thinks'- maybe they should pay me to leave early - that's the 4th goal I've missed in FAYC matches this season! Had to be home by 9pm last night, so left when stoppage-time board went up, and was way up Floyd Rd when I heard the goal! Good game all round, some fine performances - they started playing to feet more when Callum came on, and Olly Muldoon proved his worth again. In good company sitting with 'Henry' throughout.
Ollie Muldoon’s picture-perfect free-kick in the 94th minute at The Valley booked Charlton a place in the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup against Manchester United.
After a tight contest, which seemed destined for extra-time, Tottenham Hotspur looked the more likely to break the deadlock as the game entered the closing stages.
However, in the final seconds, Tobi Sho-Silva raced through on goal where his heels were clipped by Ollie Modeste.
The Tottenham right-back was then made to pay by his namesake. Unfazed by the pressure on his shoulders, Muldoon, whose introduction at half-time helped turn the tide in Charlton’s favour, curled a set-piece into the top left corner of the net past the outstretched hand of Billy Granger.
Jubilant scenes followed at the final whistle as the hosts celebrated claiming one prized scalp in the competition and could begin to dream about taking on the defending champions at Old Trafford.
The game was a tight affair throughout, but not one without chances and either side could have taken the lead in the opening minutes.
Addicks forward Joe Pigott out-muscled Kevin Stewart within two minutes and warmed the palms of Granger, before rampaging full-back Jack Barthram was thwarted by Dillon Phillips at the other end.
The diminutive figure of Jack Munns looked Tottenham’s most creative player throughout the contest and nearly caught the Charlton stopper napping at his near post with a free-kick.
Left-back Morgan Fox was an attacking outlet all evening for the home side and his crossing created chances for Pigott and Adebayo Azeez in the first period, but neither could connect sweetly with their efforts.
As Tottenham grew into the game, Charlton joint-bosses Steve Avory and Paul Hart introduced midfielder Muldoon in place of forward Harry Gerard at half time and Charlton began to establish more control over proceedings.
The hosts should have taken the lead on the hour mark when Pigott turned Diego Poyet’s cross back towards goal where Semi Ajayi’s shot was blocked bravely and fairly by Nabil Bentaleb on the goal-line.
Charlton’s central midfield trio of Poyet, Muldoon and schoolboy Tareiq Holmes, who made several determined tackles, performed well but the home side could not cap a period of possession with a goal.
Pigott was then denied from close range by a sublime last-ditch challenge from Stewart, a commanding figure at the back for Spurs.
The introduction of Calum Harriott breathed new life into Charlton as the skilful forward ran at a tiring defence and produced good quality with his deliveries into the penalty area.
Tottenham also improved in the final stages, but their highly-rated forward trio earned little change out of a well-organised Charlton defence.
Souleymane Coulibaly should have done better when racing onto Shaquille Coulthirst’s cross, before the latter nearly scored in fortuitous circumstances when Phillip’s clearance bounced off him and the ball rolled agonisingly wide of the open goal.
Now into four minutes of injury time, home supporters held their breath when Munns, who earlier hit the bar with a rocket shot, lined up a free-kick on the edge of the box, but the playmaker blazed his effort over the bar.
Barely a minute later, Muldoon showed him how it should be done to send Charlton’s talented youngsters into the last eight of the competition.

Spurs might have been a bit more slick but we were always in the game and this was no smash and grab.
just as shame the Man U game isn't at the Valley
