  • Another failure on my part. More apologies Kings Hill for not first analysing the content of my post before inflicting it on this august assembly.
  • I genuinely have no idea what you are on about BD.

You wasn't invited, you didn't know about it until five hours before the event, yet you're appear offended that his friends and others want to support him.

It's nothing to do with you, so why keep going on about why you're not going to go, when its taking place as you type.
    I'm there now. It's rubbish.

didn't know when it was and you're right actually, looking back on the first post, it was a whip round and nothing to do with JF so indeed, i withdraw my comments. Not sure what the other posters on here are on about either - gotta laugh.

JT's there - just seen him being interviewed on Sky and this dolly bird's just rushed past - she's got an ill fitting mini skirt and what looks like a blonde wig.
  • Rufus had a testimonial , not sure how the money split went but it was in conjunction with raising money for a charity(s) of his choice

Jim davison cracked a few gags as well

The best bit was when they auctioned a framed signed shirt and picture of that goal @ wembley
I'm guessing the people and numbers involved but I think it was jason euell , dj spooney and possbly lisbie got involved in a bidding war and the price got up to around £5k for it and the music stopped and spooney wore it........
with the previous bids of say £4.8k euell and £4.5k lisbie
a quick word in the auctioneers ear and euell and lisbie were both told that they had winning bids as well cos there were 2 extra framed signed thingys
The look on their faces turned from the sheer delight of stitching spooney up to one of horror as they'd just spunked a lot of dough they hadn't expected to ......

I guess you had to be there !
  • Nice anecdote.
  • I was never interviewed on Sky
  • Just glad i didn't write to my local MP to complain - having said that, he was probably there anyway.
  • So @JT was wearing a miniskirt and a blonde wig?
  • Now i know i got my wires crossed a bit yesterday but it was definitely you JT

  • No, that was Rodney Trotta. I'm sure he'll confirm.
  • I find some of the comments on this thread absolutely disgusting. Good player who started with us and spent most of his career with us and a genuinely good guy. Ended his career effectively as a result of injuries sustained in a Charlton shirt.

Some "fans" go on about player loyalty don't have the faintest clue about the meaning of the word. It's not like anyone was holding a gun to anybody's head to attend, or even overly promoting this event. Pathetic views based on nothing.

I know Morts and agree and have held my hands up to getting it wrong. I thought he was flogging tickets to a dinner which was for his own 'retirement fund' and hence have retracted my comments completely. I have no problem with JF. Good player for us anda great goal against Palace. My comments were made entirely on my incorrect assumption.
  • Bexley Dan -"My comments were made entirely on my incorrect assumption."

And not for the first time.....
  • if the money raised is going to chairty like dmezla house or somthing that would be fine, but i really cant imagine he is that skint that he needs all the money from one dinner. i know he never earned ashley cole/ rio ferdinand type wages but he stil probably took home more a month( if the 9k quote is correct) than i would do in nearly 2 years at work.
  • Why the vitriol?

9 years service in a Charlton shirt, played through the pain barrier for us under Curbs and suffered two injuries that effectively finished him whilst wearing our shirt.

    Good luck to him.
