  • Can i bring a bird ?
  • Shag, no, pull one while you're out there!

Shirty, going to ask for the money back if nothing on the vans, seriously.

  • Blimey we have already been told to look out for "Fanny" on the pitch now there will be a "Shag"

    :-)
  • Great to to meet a few fellow Lifers today to represent CL as the cheque was presented to Paul Hart on the pitch before the game. Congratulations to all who contributed through CL and BA for the money raised, and here's hoping for more of the same in the future. Proud moment and a good start to an enjoyable afternoon all round.
  • Used to think @Shag was proper Charlton. Didn't realise he was so corporate.
  • Glad to hear you enjoyed it Del, a small thank you for what you personally have contributed.
  • Nice to meet you lot and nice to be part of it.
  • Names to photos please...
  • Yes, it was a good occasion. Nice to meet everyone.

    .
  • Which two plums turned up to an official presentation ceremony wearing white trainers?

Don't you people have any stadards? Or is a pair of northern monkey blades who've snuck into the photos?

I believe, not meet all theses guys.
  • Some personal thanks are due, if I may

To our wonderful club for arranging the presentation - characteristically thoughtful
To Henry for the masterly and relentless auctions
To CL for providing the perfect platform
To all the bidders - successful or unlucky - for their generosity
To all the other contributors for putting up some really marvellous stuff
To my great friend John from Coventry for coming off the bench for me on the day
To my sons Chris (Zinedine Bagheri) and Ben for their own very generous contribution of items. Might I say, btw. that no finer sons could any man wish for.

I've been Pat and Mick for some time. When eventually diagnosed, being pwopa Charlton what else could it be but Parkinson's. However, rather than the normal kind, when you can look forward to years of discomfort (!), there's a chance that it's a rather more definite type called MSA. I wanted to arrange the orderly disposal of various kinds of memorabilia to worthy homes, and I was delighted when Chris' idea of contacting CL paid off so handsomely. Chris recently emigrated to Oz and although Ben still comes to Charlton he's fallen out of love with the professional game. I live in Holland and don't get over so often these days. Yesterday John was a perfect stand-in - a Charlton stalwart since 1954.

I'm so proud to be associated with you all and with this amazing club. Of course I would have written these words at any time over the past 57 years, but it's particularly special at the moment when our players, our manager and staff, our owners and everyone connected with the club, I do believe, are ready to make history.

    What a lovely post GHF.

    Thoughts with you mate.
  • Well said GHF, and you are right there is a special feeling about our club that has been growing all season and I think we all feel it. I wish you well with your illness and thank you for the contributions that you have made.

    Go well.

  • Hi Stig,
Do you have a photo of the other door, with the logo, both the Charlton life and Bromley were my designs, be good to see the design in reality.......
  • Top post GHF. Wishing you all the best fella.

I think that's about it Henry, though I believe the guy with the home shirt was there for something else. He might have been the Valley Gold winner.
  • Yes great post. Make sure to keep that glass half full won't you. All the best.
  • Sorry Ken, but this is the only other angle I've got.

I did walk right around the back of it, but couldn't see any other logos. I was told to look out for a Bromley Addicks sign, is that right? There was only one minibus there though. I gathered from Henry that there is more than one bus. Perhaps the other logo went on a different minibus.
  • These days the glass is as big as a bucket !!
  • You are right, stig - the geezer in the charlton shirt was the last valley gold winner

You are right, henry - about which one I am in the line up

How does it feel to be so right, guys?

    ---------

Can we get a pic of us handing over the cheque to Paul Hart from the club?

    ---------

That was a brilliant day everyone -thanks!
  • I can't stop laughing a Rodney and Shag being called plums by Exiled Addick. Bow ties next time chaps.
  • . I think he's flipping rude. It's a football match and trainers on the pitch are acceptable. The plum.
  • Lucky he never made that remark about the trainers when rodders was on the sauce yesterday....
