CL on the pitch next Saturday v Sheffield Utd

edited January 2012 in General Charlton
With next Saturday's game being academy day the Club have asked Bromley Addicks and Charlton Life if we would officially hand over the cheque for £2,000 that we donated to the new academy minibuses.

A few brave lifers have volunteered so look out for Stig, Tangoflash, Jints, Siv, Shag and RodneyCharltonTrotter plus significant others pre-match.

And thanks again to everyone who bid or donated. We've now reached over £3,000 with the auctions so we have some more money we need to find a home for.

The auctions themselves will start again in a week or two.

    Good news!
Have we raised enough for the front or back of the minibus Henry? ;-0

Can't wait to see what some of these lifers look like!
  • Yes, well done all those who contributed and especially Henry.

Enough for the back doors (oh er missus) Valley Gold paid for the rest.
  • Well that's 6 of the clique identified in writing.
  • Well done to all involved with this effort, I shall be looking out for the lifers on the pitch on Saturday.
  • Are you going to take the big flag round while you're there?

  • Well that's 6 of the clique identified in writing.
Won't you be signing your contract at half time?

  • Please could the Lifers on the pitch wear MASSIVE badges so the rest of us can recognise them.

Another Lifer will be treading the hallowed sod at 2.45pm pre kick off to present the Academy with a cheque for £600 towards said mini bus . This is monies raised by NWKA with the decision made to donate directly to the Academy as opposed to sponsoring a player's shirt this season. Not bad for a group of less than 200 members. A further cheque for £500+ will be presented at a future home match, to CADSA for the headsets required for visually impaired members . This is money raised from the autumn quiz which Henry and co supported.

Anyway, please try to be in your seats around no later than 2.45 to give a wave /cheer for Fanny and 2 of her lovely grandkids. Thanks. xx
  • Well done to all concerned, especially Henry, Fanny and all for their efforts in raising a significant sum in difficult times.

Give yourself a pat on the back as well Del, if my memory is correct you spent a few bob in those auctions and had some fairly hefty bids beaten as well.
  • Thanks Mike, but I am pleased and proud to support such a worthy cause.

Surely BDL could arrange for their public unveiling?

That's them. You lot paid for the doors on which should be mentions of CL and BA
  • So there will be a shag on the pitch before the game tomorrow. That's what I call pre-match entertainment!!

That may sell a few more tickets.

Did not see anything on them with the above mentioned, or though i only looked at the left hand side of one bus, the back and the front. Maybe they are on the right side of the van.
