  • For some bizarre reason the wendys took exception to our signing so many players in the summer & the comments have varied from "it'll take a season for them to bed in/ wait until all of the players not playing ask for transfers,we'll be fooked/powell will be gone in 3 months look at last season (some of us thought the same tho lol)/ I wouldn't want any of those players they've signed/ we've signed their player of the year & now they are claiming that he isn't very good" moving onto " I've seen a few of their games & they're not all that / wait until the heavy grounds come they won't be able to play their tippy tappy football/it's only 5 points we'll soon overtake them/it's only 7 points we'll soon overtake them/we were 8 points behind & now it's only 5, we'll be top soon/ wait until they have their blip, we had ours at the start of the season/I can't wait to get them at illsborough, we're gonna smash them /Semedo will rip them a new arsehole (ooh er mrs!) on & on & now we're fooking cheating, lying, classless cockney wankers......& they wonder why Charlton go on their forum to answer these claims
While the blades have said looking forward to the game, we're playing well so should be a good one etc............. Welcome to the red half of Sheffield.
    Spot on.

And Wednesday fans wonder why other clubs' fans call them out for being arrogant and deluded!
  • It's so good to see other fans this season seeing them for exactly what the majority of them are !
  • I think we were a bit out of order saying Semedo wasn't any good- I think he is very good - it's just you need the right player alongside him -something I think they lack - he doesn't give you much offensively but as a water carrier he is excellent - you could argue whether you need a water carrier in League one though but that is a different debate. But to an extent all fans are the same- they find it so hard to give credit to rivals. If you had considered every comment on our ability from our opponents this year - the sore losers anyway -we would be propping up the league rather than running away with it!!!

Never had this bullshit from other teams fans to my knowledge, as i said above they seemed to take exception to us signing a lot of players lol how bizarre is that ?

  • would happily see united come up with us automatically, their fans seem a pleasant bunch, something that cant be said about the wendies "fans".

Semedo was a cult hero, I think I've spelt that right & we all seemed to have forgotten what a good midfielder looked like. This season the likes of Danny Hollands & Dale Stephens have shown what a good central midfielder is capable of & as much as most of us liked semedo he couldn't live with the team that we have now.

I think Semedo could play in the Championship in the right side- I wouldn't swap him with Hollands, Stephens or Pritchard but that doesn't make him rubbish in my books. It is interesting that a lot of clubs think we have spent big -when you take away the Jenkinson money and the wages we saved on the likes of Semedo we haven't spent that much.

We do have a great supportive board and a terrific manager though and the fact opponents think we have spent so much is a credit to Sir Chris and them.
  • I think league one level is semedo. His thought process on the ball is so slow. You can almost hear the hamster running in it's wheel to power his brain.

Don't get me wrong I loved him here and he is a good player without the ball but you can't have just a ball winner at higher levels they need to be able to play a bit as well.
  • He can do simple passes - with a hard working attacking and creative player alongside him he would be terrific. Mind you, not that easy to find.
  • My thinking is that their fans are SO jealous of our set up, our players , our support and most definitely our Manager. The behaviour of those idiots outside the ground resulted from pure frustration & anger that emanated from the realisation that we are SO much superior in all departments.

And basically, this mirrored the reaction of their guy on the touchline . He couldn't keep still from the first to the final whistle. Bristled with pent up hatred for an honest team , playing the beautiful game that was so clearly outwitting his bullies all over the pitch. He just couldn't cope with being second best on the day - hence his antics on the touchline which culminated in him resorting to insults in the direction of Morro and SCP. The behaviour of a child that knows it can't win fairly & squarely so has a " paddy" in order to vent its feelings. Probably went home & kicked the cat....

My final word(s) is that cheats ( and bullies) never prosper, Mr Megson. Worth pondering on when you visit the vet tomorrow morning ?

    This!!!!!!
  • I can't stand Sheff wed fans, attacked when with little children by two "hard" fans on the way back to the car a few years back. Sums them up.

MUCH rather see Sheff Utd go up than Huddersfield or Wednesday. Hate Wednesday and Huddersfield may be a force if they go up due to backing. Sheff Utd will go back up sooner or later so may as well be this year.

The Blade joiner i had working at my house on saturday was very complimentary about his trips to The Valley and he went to the game at the lane and felt we won fairly. As Worksop pointed out earlier, Blades don't appear to be quite as fickle as Owls, however the bottom line is all our clubs are below where we want to be and it is this passionate desire to witness success that keeps us going.
  • Sheff Wednesday will go up sooner or later too - I don't think this season but soon, they are too big for this league.
  • Sheff weds can't handle the fact they are insignificant in English football, now and for the last decade, they act like spoilt children who used to get everything and can't accept the change .... They need to learn some humility ...

That pretty much sums them up.

not until they realise they are in League 1 for a reason and not until they realise that they don't have to just turn up to win. Miss out this season they will turn on Megson who will cop the lot because Mandaric will be inside. Can see them being in League 1 for a few more seasons yet.

  • Didn't really have any feelings one way or the other about Wendies before this season but if Owlstalk is anything to go by they have arrogant, nasty fans (there are some at every club obviously, but with the Wendies it seems like it's a majority). Really hope Huddersfield or Blades come up with us rather than them.
  • sheffield wednesday and northerners in general didnt really bother me until this weekend.

much prefer the red half now.
  • Group hug after the game on sat? :)

true, much as we like to, you can't classify a someone's personality by the team they support.
Having said that a Sheffield Wednesday fan at work says Wednesday fans do tend to be moaners, although tbh as a young, daily mail reading conservative he probably doesn't have a lot in common with many of his fellow fans
  • anyone else remember an FA cup game against Wednesday back in the 70s when their "fans" were chucking bricks at the covered end
  • anyone else remember an FA cup game against Wednesday back in the 70s when their "fans" were chucking bricks at the covered end
Indeed, it made headlines during the match, something like 'rioting at the Valley' but as I recall, it was Charlton fans doing the throwing as their lot took over the Covered End well before KO.

yes, and our fans were chucking them back.

TellyTubby you're quite right it was Charlton lobbing the bricks, think Charlton were also lobbing bricks into the far end of the west stand as there were a few wendys tucked in the corner
  • I can't remember them taking the Covered end but they tried to come round at half time, thats when a lot of throwing was going on.

we 'shared' it for a while

that's right, they were persuaded to leave.
  • Really don't care who goes up with us to be honest - all clubs have some shitty fans and all clubs have some good fans although it has been sweet putting one over on them and the more they moan and delude themselves, the funnier it is. I think they will lose in the play offs.
  • Well done CAFC on your win at Hillsborough.
Beat the red half now please.
