  • Play off final at Wembley
  • Ipswich Play Off Semi at The Valley.

    That was electric
  • In terms of numbers, Derby away mid 90's

Johny Major shut your pits down...
  • More recently the support for the boys at Chelsea in the Carling Cup was pretty awesome that night, did not stop from start to finish, even in extra time.

agree , it was real passion all around the ground superb
  • One game I remember was a Wednesday night against the Hammers, Pele JJ scored in the last moments with an over head kick to secure a 4-3 victory, I remember the atmosphere that night being fairly amazing.

Boro away last year in the cup was also a great night.

I remember many a game where we have had a great atmosphere pumping around the ground, unfortunately as of late this is happening less and less.
  • The Ipswich semi game was special - roof off the old west stand (remember thinking that it might make the atmosphere less intense beforehand!), a humid, kind of samba-ish evening, Newt's screamer sang myself till I couldn't speak. It was fun even for such a big game. Everybody up for it.
  • Stu, wasn't that 4 - 4? Might be me getting mixed up.

i think it was 4-4 there was a 4-2 when we scored all 6 !!
  • JJ's overhead kick was the 4-4

  • Sorry Stu - agreed that the atmosphere was great that night!
  • Liverpool Away Midweek 5,000 up there liverpool 2-1 but great support even though we went behind early
  • I guess I got so caught up in the atmosphere I forgot the actual score :(

That's problem with being the only CAFC supporter within my circle of friends, I have nobody to check things like this with, that and being the sad tosser that goes to games alone!

Another occasion that spring to mind was a Premiership victory at Highbury (I'm not going to make a fool of myself again by trying to remember the score). That was a great Saturday afternoon.

Also when we won the league up at Blackburn, another amazing atmosphere.
  • I think possibly Boro away, Out of the 5,000 or so around 4-4,500 fans stood and really got behind the team.

I also think the atmosphere generated by the 1.5k we had at Palace away in December 2004 completely silenced them and made noise that sounded like there was a lot more of us there than there actually was.
  • I can't really remember Boro away, being quite pissed at the time.

Palace away was brilliant, i think thathas been the best i've witnessed.

The Hammers on the 24th will hopefully eclipse anything ive experienced.

He might not appreciate you climbing all over him. Given your record here, you best double check that is his name first!
  • Wasnt that 4-4 against West Ham the first time Defoe came to the Valley and he scored to put them 4-3 up? Amazing but surreal night that, i think Kitson scored a hat-trick for them, which reminds me of the away at Palace where he scored with about 5 minutes to go for us to win 1-0, we took masses that day i seem to remember and gave them relentless stick about administration?

  • play off semi final. Both of the legs for me, best i've experienced.
More recently then perhaps palace away and boro in the cup last year.
  • Play off final and Boro in the cup.
  • theres a theme ain't there, when people stand up, people make more noise.

Ipswich and Boro for me, with the last two games against the Scum at Shithole
  • Play off semi at the Valley for me too- magical evening!

Have to say that the home support, although driven by the on team performance, at the Utd 3-3, the Newcastle 2-2 and the Wham 4-4 came very close.
  • Apart from Wemberley

The 2-2 at Highbury when the clock end had only just re-opened and was a bit of a state still.

Surges and all sort in a stans which probably had too many people in it.

where the hell has that gone?
  • I bought that game at Highbury ON Digital!
  • Remember it well, was in the front row at Highbury n what a great goal that chip was from Jensen.

LOL I remember that night very well. we went absolutely mental when Steve Mac scored.

    for me

Ipswich play off semi final - that night was the Valley at it's best - the most intimidating i can remember.
  • Boro away was ok, but one that always sticks for me is Port Vale away in the super Clive season. Directors paid for the coaches I think.

Not much of a game, Youds had a blinder, Bowen went off early on I think and Barness came on and had a shocker, we won one nil with a super Clive penalty.

Ipswich in the play-offs away, sending Palace down, Wembley, Chelsea away in the cup last year, countless division one aways were all special and loud. As someone said though the special spine tinglers have all but died out now for some reason. What did it this year was Villa away really wound me up as we were silent!! (More than liklely due to the singers being spread out and a lack of alcohol).
