Predictable decision and the club have done well in appealing. Because of this Hamar played against Brentford and is available for the Sheffield games. The only game he'll miss is Fulham which he may well have been rested for anyway. The only risk they took was if it was considered 'frivolous' and this was a calculated risk that paid off. You know it makes sense. :-)
Perfect result. Well done to the bright spark who thought to appeal.
Quite. He misses a game he probably wasn't going to play in, anyway.
''Insufficient evidence'' is a mealy-mouthed admission that it was at best a 50-50 decision, wouldn't you say? It's certainly a long way short of a ringing endorsement that ''we have total confidence that our ref was 100 per cent correct.''
Hopefully, the FA will have a quite word with him and point out that common sense is at least as important as inflexible application of the letter of the law in these things...

The referee was just another poor official in a long line who we encounter in this league. I would prefer to concentrate upon teaching Hamer and our young keepers to learn better judgement in those situations. Morrison was pushing him outwards and from that angle there was no danger unless the striker managed to get a cross in, in which case Hamer would have been totally out of position. I found myself inadvertently yelling 'get back Hamer' when he looked as if he was about to do the same thing on Saturday.
Yes, it was a poor decision by Hamer at the end of the day but the punishement was still wrong because there was considerable doubt whether he a) meant to handle and b) prevented a definite goal scoring opportunity. Probably cost us 3 points but oh well, it's all in the past now- onwards and upwards as they say.

We were punished enough during the game playing with 10 men, costing us 3 points.
I felt all along that would be the outcome. Best thing is that he will be rested for a game he was almost certain to be rested anyway. Well played.
