If/when Wright-Phillips moves on, it'll be for a big fee, meaning that his replacement will be of a higher standard then Webber as all or most of the fee will be used to strengthen the squad.. I hope

Has his contract been renewed?
Webber was a very ecent player a couple of years ago, so if we can get him to close to that standard he'll be a more than decent backup - though not an out and out scorer. More of a pest in the box type, with a bit of skill and presence.
BWP, Kermo, Hayes, Euell are our 4 strikers. Popo and Smith probably not in the frame atm, and Benson is 99.9% off in January.
I'd say we do need another striker, but with only 5 places on the bench up for grabs with 1 of those a striker, and Wagstaff giving us another outlet up front, it would seem like a strange move if we're going to keep everyone happy.
Well Len, do you think he'll be leaving us in January then (because this loan is surely as cover until the end of the season)......or are you looking beyond that?
I hope I'm just being my normal paranoid, long in the tooth, miserable Charlton self BUT QPR find it difficult to score, they are a London club with bundles of dosh and SWP is already in situ.
Put like that not beyond the realms for January is it?
I'd be very happy to have him as back up for BWP. If Bradley's fabled bad knees play up then he's the kind of replacement we'd need. I always liked him at Watford and I reckon he'd be good at L1 level. Plus he got Kevin Muscat sent off once so there's that

If fit good backup for Bwp or green if Waggy is off. Schlupp will be perm. When U18s win cup need half on loan to league sides cos buying success is not CAFC. Like to see Azeez b4 Webber signed.

Azeez is what, 17 he's clearly not ready to be anywhere near the first team. Playing the kids too early just because they're there is a mistake. And it's a bit hard to say buying success isn't CAFC while we're looking at making our 22nd signing..

Chunes said: A fully fit Danny Webber would breeze this league. Same argument was used in relation to Woodgate. Trouble is that both are made out of biscuits. You can't have someone you can't rely on and even when fit he isn't scoring at the rate BWP manages. And with only 5 subs on the bench you daren't take the risk he won't last the match.
Don't care if his history is cack. If the messiah rates him and puts him in the team he will get the backing of us all. If he is really playing for a wage then he will give it his all and lets hope its better than good enough. Welcome aboard the Charlton Express. Whoo Whoo.

With the right service and partnership.
He puts the ball in the onion bag.
Those players all have their strengths but none of them are prolific scorers so not better necessarily but different.
Sign him, SCP !!!
