No problem with the truth, ooh aah. I just fail to see how you can think that saying that the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over again is ok and not mind-numbingly boring.
But my biggest problem is with the fact that you will retain negativity about the club unless it's in the premier league. We weren't in the premier league when I first started going to games. That's not what this is all about.

5% true
55% annoying
40% depressing
It's worth remembering Ooahaah didn't start this thread.
you're too kind exiled , i only make a comment about away followings if someone else makes one nowadays cos i know how touchy and precious everyone is on here !

wtf are you on about with that 'fact'crap about negativity unless we're in the prem
and just cos i prefer my team mixing it in the prem doesn't mean i support them any less in any other league
i'm not negative about us atm and i love SCP more than anyone i'm pretty positive we're going up but i'm not gonna claim this is the greatest season ever whilst wanking over league one football and salivating at the prospect of rejoining millwall and palace in the championship
Going back to the arsenal vid. The bloke in the black tshirt looks like a comedian that's on have I got news for you I think and theres a fair few b***k ****'s being worded. Or maybe blind

You have been positive recently. I was talking about in the past, but that's in the past. So I apologise mate.
The bullish attitude of those who criticise others for not travelling away is exactly why I don't travel away. I have had more negative away games than positive ones, related entirely to the attitude of our travelling fans, not the action on the pitch.
In the words of MJ: 'If want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make that change'.
Until fans are more accepting of fans who want to sit, not sing, not get drunk, not abuse the stewards etc etc etc, our away figures will remain low.
Now that you can see away followings in a programme we can gauge better clubs followings. Generally speaking clubs take about 5% of their average home gate. HOWEVER, we take less than 400 to Halifax, Huddersfield bring to us 1100. Both games live, both games very inconvenient for the travelling fan. Both home averages similar, so why do they bring double? Overall this season our away support holds up, but over the years it has been poor. In the premiership years we usually had the bottom three away followings in the league.

How can you compare a top of the table league clash to a first round FA Cup tie against a non league team.
your comparing huddersfield in a six pointer for top of league status to a early round fa cup game when no trains were running? huddersfield did not sell out millwall away in the play offs few seasons back
Thought that the city following looked shit last night, looks like more Huddersfield at ours on a Monday night sky game made te effort! City, still small time!

Just read through this thread and saw this, think it's a very fair point. One example was at Brentford last month where before the game and the bottom stand started feeling up, a group who went to the cup game decided to chant 'Where were you at Halifax?' and then went into 'Loyal supporters'. Thought it was incredibly pathetic in all honesty and moved away from them. It's like they thought we were all going to go, "Oh my god they went all that way, that must make them better than me! We must bow to them and scream were not worthy!" I've done three away games this year and have my tickets for Fulham and Orient and that's the most I've ever done in a season since I've been a fan. All well and good money wise I will try and go to a few more this year but I'm not going to lose sleep if I dont.

"I blame the fans, shamone"
I don't know why we have to have big discussions on our away following.
If people want to go they do if they don't they don't.
We should say well done to the people who travel up and down the country supporting Charlton.
I don't think it makes people more of a supporter if you go to away games or not.
My case I work every other Saturday so try to go to games when I'm off whether they are home or away.
I have actually been to more away than home this season but that's just how the fuxtures have fallen.
In the end as I've said well done to those who travel away. Hopefully as we get better more will go if they don't so what.
315 odd Blackburn at Sunderland on Sunday-120 miles
Seen a City fan on another site moaning that the tickets were £56 and he said there was 1.5k there with no trains back for some fans etc.
On the other hand they took 5k to Arsenal in the Midweek Cup match as tickets were only a tenner.
Any some people are mocking city fans for not paying £56? Jesus wept.
can we not talk about away support on a thread that has piss poor away support in its heading ,,,,,
