The final bonus to all this is it's also another way for data to be collected about you and sold on to market research companies.
Personally, I'd stay well clear.
I only have an account so I can log into Spotify. I have never posted a single word on my account, never visited anyone else's pages and have never agreed to be "friends" with anyone on there, but I think it's frightening the list of "People that might know me" that it correctly throws in my direction. It's too 1984 for me, I don't like it.
If you want see pictures of your mates new birds girls holiday to Malia 2009 you have two options: A. Break into her flat B. Get onto Facebook I'm too short to reach windows so I'm all over Facebook like a cheap suit.
It's fine. I stick to the rule that I'm only "friends" with people I'd be happy to see turn up on my doorstep. Keeps me in touch with friends and family in other countries and around the south east.
... cue group disappointed sigh from all members of the Clique
Never had and never want it. Too many nosy people on there interested in everyone elses lives and putting pictures up.
Couple of years ago, Went on a night out an d told the Missus I was off to a mates house for a weekend only for pictures with date included to pop up on her section of me down the Pub and I aint even got Facebook.
Pictures of you & date ? thats a bummer hope she was worth it ;-)
Facebook is what you make it. Lot of people on this thread who claim to have nothing to do with it, but have firmly formed (other peoples) opinions of it. Try it, if you don't like it, cancel.

my work days would be even slower without this site and facebook.
Now and then you'll get some tripe about 'find out who's been looking at your profile the most'
there's always that initial 'shit' thought !
Indeed.
Thanks for the advice. On balance I'll give facebook a swerve.
What is the general consensus on twitter?
