Well, as I remember about a year back, he was talking about how he chose a career in athletics rather than football....because he was/is a pretty good player........though how good is of course an unanswerred question. As we well know, there's a world of difference between being a good amateur player and a full time pro.
Now here's the bit I'm not sure about, he was in some way or another linked with someone at the club.....it might even have been CP come to think of it......I just can't remember and he did mention how in the future he might think about training with us and seeing how things turn out.....that's as much as I can remember and even that is a bit sketchy.

LOL can just imagine him chasing a punt from hamer to opposing byline catching the ball & crossing over to BWP & Big Yann! All opposing defences has no option but defend goal kicks or punts on their 18yd line = creating space for Hollands & Stevens!,
He will need an end zone simply to slow him up. Having blistering pace is not quite the same as playing 90 minutes at a fair pace. Didn't a drug band Olympic ahlete of ours try Rugby not so long ago and made the same comment.

OR, to Greg's point, like Rommedahl, chasing a punt, catching it, then putting a cross straight over the bar

The key bit here is CROSSING over to BWP and Big Yann. Crossing. How do we know he can cross. Lets stick with Green
He is good mates with Deon Burton, so we have no link now anyway
Ah right..........I know I didn't imagine it....well done Peakie & DR.
Anyway, I can imagine there are some clubs out there who'd at least take a look at his footballing abilities.....you never know, crazier things have happened.
Daley Thompson I think played for Wimbledon reserves after athletics. Tried to earn a pro contract but was considered a tad old. Could easily have made it had he tried in his younger days. One of those annoying people who is good at absolutely everything....
Usain Bolts a good player and all, but I find his movement really one dimensional, I mean he runs the channel really well, but that would be no good against top div 3 defences like Wednesday and MK dons. He needs to angle his runs more and create space for others. I also think he has a real problem with offsides, he always seems to be in front of the last man.
didn't Daley Thompson play a few games professionally, i can't be arsed to wiki this random memory.....

Have to remember that Daley wasn't exactly a sprinter although he had to face the 110 m hurdles as one of his 10 events.
Just a powerful, fully committed all rounder . Always remember him whistling through the National Anthem at The Coliseum .
