Paul Gorman

  • Paul Gorman has a good scoring record for the number of games he played.
Unfortunately in my opinion he wasn't played enough!
He sat behind us once in the lower west stand - think he was injured
at the time! The game was a boring one against someone like Barnsley, he made us laugh by
saying it's like watching paint dry! Great bloke - hope he's doing well!
  • My recollection is that Paul Gorman was signed by Lennie Lawrence for about 15K from Fisher. Curbs/Gritt let him go, but he ended up at Welling a season or so later and by all accounts was scoring and playing well enough to have got back into the league (as Charlie MacDonald later did), but sadly broke his leg and never got back to top form. I remember him being interviewed on Charlton Chat (?) radio show and he said that he'd played in South Africa as a teenager in front of huge crowds. He also said that Robert Lee was a greedy player...
  • wasnt he sent off at ashton gate for celebrating our second goal in a 2-0 win?
  • Don't think he was sent off , but I remember him being booked .Wasn't this the game where Pardew made his debut scored and got sent off.
