    @CAFCBourne

    stewards, stewards !!!

Your bet was him scoring at Selhurst, as you remember him 'crashing one off the bar into the back of the net'.

He never score at Selhurst. His two goals that season came away at Hull and Watford.

    Fosters please pal :-)
  • He lives on dairsie road near me in Eltham. I'm good mates with his sons.

Career got ended through a knee injury. I always have my Charlton banter with him and he thinks he knows alot about us, but I always win.

Interesting, he's a northern lad though isn't he?

What does he do for a quid these days? Doubt if he could retire on what we were paying him!

Bumped into him somewhere in The City about 10 years ago (think it was at Bank Negara Indonesia) and he was a mini cab driver/delivery man.

Not sure what he's doing nowadays though Ormiston

  • He is a plumber now but does other handy work. Currently working for Lewisham council.

His youngest son is a bright little footballer. Paul rejected offers from leyton orient and a few other clubs for him because he said when they wanted him at 10 years old he was too young.
  • He used to work for Royal Mail with my Dad.

I'm sure he has been an undertaker at some point as well.

    ???
  • Well he was working behind the bar at Welling a couple of seasons back when we played our annual friendly there - mainly telling anyone who would listen that Curbs had made a mistake in letting him go.
  • Good goal at Bristol City...put through by Rosenoir and finished with the outside of his right foot. Natural goalscorer when we didn't have one but was a bit like Jeffers in that he didn't fit into the manager's team pattern. At many other clubs (of equal standing) he would have been a regular.
  • Could strike a ball very sweetly as I remember.
  • Good overhead in the zenith data away to Cambridge.
  • Was I believe manager at Erith and Belvedere who share PVR with Welling.
  • I thought Gorman was signed by Gritt/Curbs after we'd moved to Upton Park?

My main recollection of him was losing 40 quid having bet he'd score 20+ goals in 1992/3.  Think he scored twice.
  • He quit football after he left us. Had an offer from Ipswich but couldn't take it (2 year contract) because of his knee.
He is the co-manager of Erith and Belvedere. I spoke to him last night about the Curbs scenario.
