Scott Parker - November Premier League Player of the Month

Scott Parker has won the Barclays Premier League Player of the Month Award for November.

The England international's consistency in the heart of midfield has helped Tottenham to enjoy a productive run of results.

He has been instrumental in their recent winning sequence and has formed an impressive partnership with Croatian playmaker Luka Modric - with their games working well together.

Parker only arrived at Tottenham over the summer, in a move from West Ham, but the reigning Football Writers' Association Player of the Year has already endeared himself to the White Hart Lane faithful.

Spurs completed a November 'double' as Harry Redknapp won the Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month Award.

Redknapp has now landed the managerial gong on two occasions this season, having also been honoured in September.

He was forced to watch on from afar as Spurs started November in style, with minor heart surgery keeping him away from a 3-1 derby victory over Fulham.

He was back in the dugout, though, to see an Emmanuel Adebayor brace help Spurs to a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa.

Tottenham ended the month on the road at West Brom, and recovered from falling behind early on to run out 3-1 victors at The Hawthorns.

    I agree, was a fantastic player for us while he was here and always given 110% wherever he's gone. finally get the recognition he deserves shame he left and the manner of it but in the past.

    lol west spam made him the player he is, not at all at charlton we made him then he f'd off !

    I have long ago forgiven him. For me the move to Chelsea was a huge mistake for him which set his career back. Who though on here, given the massive salary hike he was offered, would not have had their heads turned?

    Anyway for me Scott is a fantastic player and the best product of our youth set up in my lifetime (52 years).

    Charlton/curbs made him the type of player he is today as curbs thought and told him he was too attacking and he needed to concentrate on his defensive game.
    He reacted rather well to the constructive criticism.

    I hated him when he left but only because he was so good, shame he could not have stayed to the end of that season as I know we would have made Europe (and actually Champions League was not impossible) That said, the huge wage increase and chance to play for a team like Chelsea was an understandable reasons to go and with water under the bridge I have forgiven the lad.  He is a 100% player and that goes a long way in my book.  Good luck to him & Spurs this season, - as said above Scotty is the best player we have produced in my time (35yrs) of being a fan and great to be able to say we made him.  Still amazes me Man Utd or Arsenal did not snap him up in the summer - would have improved both their midfields immeasurably.

    There is also the other side of the coin, we received a decent fee for him and the subsequent signings failed, if they ha not we could have gone on to be a stronger force.

    Whilst the later wasn't my favourite player we still had a strong team after Parker left us imho.

    I wish Scott luck now but I would really really love it that one day he said that leaving us the way he did was a mistake.

    It won't happen but think it would go a long way for us.

    Parker reminds me of a football player from the 1920s.
    He almost looks like he's out of place in the modern game.
    I think the best word to describe the way he looks is dapper.

    Parker is class but he left us many years ago. He couldn't possibly be the same person or player after all that time. When he plays for england he isn't 'scott parker - ex cafc' he is 'scott parker of tottenham hotspurs'. With that being the case I only want him to do well if he improves england. We can't take any vicarious credit for his success. As for spurs I'd be enjoying them a lot more if they were fighting relegation.

    Scott thoroughly deserves this award.  He has always given 100% and I can't believe that people still cannot forgive him for wanting to move on to greater things.  Ok the move to Chelsea didn't work out, but I do not see how he can be blamed for wanting more.

    For me it's not about the move to Chelsea it was how he conducted himself at the time, however he has gone on to be the player we all thought he would become and has been instrumental in Spurs form this season and at £5m is an absolute bargain when you compare it to other transfers such as £35M for Andy Carrol.

    So having ruthlessley slagged him off when he left us I am pleased for the boy as already said he is not only a 100% player but is a good deal more skillful than he is given credit for.
