michael stewart told powell he didnt want to sign on this year cause in his opinion he was a prem/championship player but now cant get a club and has contacted powell recently hoping to take him back, but powell simply said to him no thanks. there was many players last season that in his opinion werent interested in playing anymore just getting payed and leaving at the end of the season.
he has never heard or seen anyone called sergi deble, he isnt on charltons books anymore.
paul bensons loan trasfer to swindon was completed at 5:03 so for that reason the football league blocked it, bradford had agreed a deal with charlton to sign benson, but as benson got to the training ground in bradford , bradford decided to change the transfer fee details which charlton werent happy about.
parnaby picked up a serious injury in the qpr friendly, looked promising before that according to him. yann is fine.

Can't say I blame him. Wasn't interested in playing for us until it turned out he can't play for anyone else. Very much in line with SCP's philosophy of attitude and personality being as important as ability.

I take it to mean that we can sign him if we want to and he is guaranteed another contract if he plays another ten games.
With that in mind (and if I'm right) there is no need for us to do anything about his contract until the summer or he plays another ten games. We might actually want to offer him different/better terms than we have agreed already so there might be no real rush to do anything now.

he was very bubbly as always, did arrive late cause of a meeting occurring at the training ground but really was positive and presented himself very well with a excellent suit.
Any mention of the long term and where he's aiming?
feels most of these players are good enough for the championship but did say a few were here to do a job in league 1 (didnt mention any names), compared us to norwich and hoping he can emulate what norwich did the last two years.
the one other question I have is about Mikel Alonso
can you beleive this guy is injured again, he is only running at the moment so his on his way back but ill be very surprised if he makes more than two appareances this season.
did mention that andy hughes wasnt happy about being named on the bench on monday but thats something he likes to see in players, said that to him the most important players in the squad are his subs, they can affect the morale in the team so having positive players who dont play as much is crucial.
he also compared our recent performances to the team which he played under when curbs was gaffer, witholding the pressure then playing on the counter.
this is probably obvious but he did say that jose semedos agent was at fault in him leaving, jose was desperate to stay but the agent found a club which could offer him the wages which he was priviously on at charlton which was 10-12k powell stated

did mention that our youth team is as good as its ever been, feels one or two maybe involved this season. beleive jordan cousins, diego poyet, azzez and toby sho silva? are one of many excellent players coming through in his opinion. they all came on against qpr and changed the game in his view.
said that a number of clubs were wanting to get michael smith onloan but felt he needed to ge used to the surrounding at charlton, he will be going out onloan next season he said, and if he see's a player who can improve the squad in januaryhe wont hesitate in signing him.
