Kish would be in my top ten worst players to ever wear a charlton shirt.
No doubt, that other great scapegoat SuperKev would be number one on your list? As for Andy Hughes, why on earth do people write off a player after just one or two appearances? The guy has been a model pro and very highly regarded by the fans everywhere he's been, except maybe Scunthorpe. He brings something very important to a young squad, quile and experience. He could prove to be one of CP's most important signings not only on the pitch but off it as well.

I'm sorry but that has to be the most ridiculous post I have ever read.
There is some strong competition but has to be well up there.
After all, Kishishev only played nearly 180 games in the Premier League for Charlton and nearly 90 times for Bulgaria - including the 1998 World Cup Finals and 1996 European Championships.
I could name you 10 worse players than Kishishev in the current squad.
We've done this to death, IMHO Kish was not premier league standard. I got slaughtered a while back but like I say its my opinion. He was Championship level at best, so maybe it would be easy to name 10 of the current squad he is better than.

Your point is valid, but we can only judge by what we see. I don't know if you saw the JPT match, but his performance in that game was truly atrocious - I'd say that he himself would probably agree - so bad in fact that I dreaded seeing him play again for fear that he'd give a repeat performance.
The flipside is, of course, that I've spun on a dime after only another four matches. For all we know, his next game might be another nightmare.
As the saying goes, you're only as good as your last game.

I hold my hand up for writing him up. Humble pie time for me! I said to my mate earlier that Hughes has gone from being my worst current player (after the 3 cup games) to one of my favourite current players. That is another reason why the signing of Jason Euell was just as important. It's important for these two players to be in and around the match day squad because they bring a sense of calm and control. Bringing Euell on with 5 minutes left is always a good idea (especially when the game is rather tight) because an experienced figure naturally calms the team down.
Can I just add JFH and and Marcus Bent both played lots of prem games and was crap in a Charlton shirt. Whilst A.Simmonson only played 16 games and is the best player to wear a charlton shirt.
As for Bent and JFH they were awesome prem players but were past there best for us! Funny how people don't rate you unless you bang in 20 goals a season or win European player of the year

I've learnt my lesson too many times over the years when it comes to wrongly judging players. Players like Mark Aizlewood, Steve McKenzie, Mike Flanagan and even Jason Euell, looked terrible when they first started their Charlton careers, only to go on to be great players for us. Now I give players at least half a season of regular first team football before judging them. Like anyone starting a new job, it takes a while before you can perform to your obtimal level.
It's a sad trait that we all possess- making quick judgements - It's just that some of us look for positives and give a player time where as others have no patience at all. Morrison was absolutely slated by Sheff Wed fans and he couldn't gey out of there quick enough as a result, which has been our gain and their loss but he probably would have never got a fair crack of the whip there. I suppose it is a fan thing but wish our fans rose above the others in that respect - probably asking for too much as there isn't an intelligence test required or football knowledge test to be a fan and they will refelct all personalities in society. Why should I expect Charlton fans to be any different, although overall our history shows we are a bit special.
He's also got ludicrously hairy forearms. He had another good game against Halifax but I feel he tires towards the end of a match so it's great to have Pritchard back to give us fresh legs. He was right on that Halifax bloke who fouled Waggy as well, great player to have around
As others have said, Hollands seemed to be playing as the defensive of the centre mids when Stephens was playing, but with Hughes happy to sit back and do the 'donkey' work, this has given Hollands a chance to be more adventurous, and boy has he. Give more balance to the team and creates yet another (nice) selection problem for CP.

One thing that has bothered me a little about Stephens in the past is the fact he sometimes sits so deep. He's meant to be the creative player but he's often standing further back than Hollands, who clearly has the sitting role when they play together. It means that sometimes our attacks lose impetus as we can't get far enough up the pitch. Hollands doesn't make that mistake and I think our attack has really benefitted from it
I noticed how much of a team player he was against Halifax - after one of the goals (it may have been Pritchard's, but I can't remember) he was straight up there to congratulate him and looked absolutely delighted (as did the rest as well, to be fair), but it really shows that we have a team of players able to enjoy each other's success, which hasn't always been the case in recent seasons when we have had a few egos about and struggled to look like a cohesive unit.
Good stuff, and credit to the bloke for winning everyone over.
Hughes has done well but i'm not sure he'll sustain it over the whole season. I think he's putting 100% into every performance but can't help thinking that this is the one position that isn't really nailed down just yet if you were picking a first 11 although no question, the starting eleven picks itself Saturday.
I thought he was outstanding today. 1st half, he didn't stop warming up! Constantly talking to Solly and it probably helped. Second half he came on and just ran and ran and ran. He covered every position along the back four and the two wings today. He is so good off the ball! He is nothing special on it, however, he done his job tonight and I thought that it deserved a mention because it's one of those performances that helped the rest of the team keep their heads.

Well done Andy Hughes!
Spot on. Although the guy can't actually kick a ball, he blumming well knows how to read the game. Top man!

.......
He's lucky, go back and review the Kermorgant thread - he was slagged off before he even kicked a ball for the club.
