i find it quite funny cos they have actually convinced themselves that they will smash us at theirs. im not gunna say anything about what i think will happen cos i cant predict it but really. i think they are getting slightly ahead of themselves
The problem they will have when they play us at home is that they will have to try to play football - they won't get away with any other approach. Their only chance of beating us is to kick us off the park but can't see them adopting that tactic. A match that will play into our hands I suspect!
Whoever wrote that was an imature 10 year old though - fine on this site but not fine posting on their site. It is embarassing!
Keep it quiet everybody, the poor buggers are delusional. I reckon they will still be believing that rubbish with about two games to go, at which time the excuses will start. I am saving up for a Get Well Soon card to send them at the appropriate moment. Megson for Super Mayor, or is it Silly Mare !
To be honest I think most giving it the big one are only on a wind up. They (wednesday) really are the most delusional bunch of supporters I think I've ever come across. Apparently once they smash Huddersfield & take 2nd place they're coming after us & as we're a below average team they'll soon overtake us.
I've always been a Semedo fan but one thing that I can't argue with is that our midfield has become much more dominant this season. Maybe it is because the level of players in all positions has risen but last season and seasons before my head was telling me that a midfield of Racon and Semedo should outclass lesser teams but in most cases it didn't - they bossed us, and I couldn't quite work out why. I think it is about balance but not a problem I properly solved in my head tbh. Semedocould stand out in games but the midfield he was part of not!
I think Semedo is a terrific player but probably one who is harder to accomodate in a side. He generally looks effective because he works hard and is involved but the midfield he was in rarely dominated. If Wednesday could aquire the right player to play alongside him, they might have something but I couldn't say who that right player is other than I don't think they have him at the moment. It would be interesting to compare our midfield stats last season with theirs this. Our midfield lost Stephen's and Hughes has come in and the level has been maintained- some would argue improved- It doesn't make total sense why that is. Maybe it is not jsut about the ability of players but the way they fit in.

Maybe Racon and Semedo just weren't very good footballers? That was, and remains, my 'guess'
Agree with you muttley i dont think its always about abillty, some players are just suited to different teams. They didnt think much of morrison up there and he has been fantastic for us.
people should stop doing that you make yourself look stoopid if the wheels come off, let the nthn dickheads have their moaning about flat cap megson, and how we are shite and a satelite london club,
then when we win the league and we will go on there wish them well in the lottery of the playoffs and then go back on there when they have another season in this shite league

Or we could not go on there at all.
In fairness I'm not looking over our shoulder I'm only looking up, and all I'm seeing is clear blue sky. So leave them to their little fantasies and we'll say well done, you gave us a good run, when we win this excuse for a league.
Response from a Wednesday fan aimed at the more literate and balanced Charlton fan, as oppossed to the foul mouthed stereo typical poster above. The reason for so much optimism at Hillsborough is a recognition that we are not the finished article yet, but we can see things coming together after 10 years of hurt.
Our squad has depth of sufficent quailty to see us through in this league, The key for us will be our ability to retain Ben Marshall in January , who has been our stand out player so far.
We are confident because we are just two points behind Huddersfield who have been on a once in a lifetime run, and for whom the pressure will be enormous after two years of play off dissapointment.
Many posters on this thread have a view of Wednesday, based mainly on our visit to you in September. We have made much progress since then, when in case you forgot we drew.
So my question to you is, What depth is there in your squad?, and who scores the goals if BWP gets injured? Sensible responses please, not all northerners wear flat caps any more than you wear Pearly suits.
It is the arrogance of your fans on your forum , you believe we are totally reliant on bwp , but others create chances throughout the team for all our midfield and strikers, we have great depth in our team as our goal scores prove, you are far more reliant on Madine than we are on bwp,
You believe that you should walk this league if you are to believe owls talk, yet shoot down any half decent post that dares to disagree ,
We will go up of that I am sure but under megson like us under Parkinson your physical big bullying boring style will fail,
The fact you see huddersfield as your main threat will be the biggest mistake mk fraud and brentford will be up there as will you and Sheffield utd , finish above us and you will win the league
We'd miss BWP for sure, but it wouldn't be disastrous. We've been lucky with injuries so far this season so it's hard to say how deep our squad is. We've got decent cover in most positions but not all.
I think Prutton and Semedo do a good job for Wednesday which is effective against 95% of the teams in this league. I think we know that they are going to be up there but I honestly think that we offer so much more from midfield than what they have. I think this is totally tied in to the philosophies of the two mangers. Megson perhaps because he was part of Howard Wilkinson's successful long ball Wednesday team of the 80's has never moved on from those tactics. Powell gives people like Wiggins the license to attack that gives us goals across the board and I think makes us more than a one man (BWP) team. I still don't like to see Wednesday fans slagged off as they've stuck by their team through a lot of shit and still turn up in numbers.

Well, we are going great guns at the moment, but we all know what happens when you start making predictions....I can't pretend that I know we will get promoted, but all the signs are looking good and it appears that our young squad is turning out to have some real strength in depth as well as some not inconsiderable talent to boot.
It looks like the top 3 are beginning to pull away from the others now, but again, all that could change. If I was to make a guess, I reckon us, Hudds and Weds will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season....but as for the order....who knows?
It's going to be very competitive and all 3 teams will be under pressure - we'll see who wilts and who wins come May time.
Both us and Weds are having quite a similar experience at the moment, in that we are waiting for that light at the end of the tunnel after years of suffering.....I don't like speaking to soon, but I think that we may finally be ready to begin our trek back to the promised land. Wednesday won't be in this league for long, either, but it has a nasty habit of dragging you back in just when you think you are going to get out of it....ask Huddersfield!
Ultimately, who cares and who knows - we're happy with what we've got, they're happy with what they've got. It will be a huge blow if BWP gets injured and Wednesday did look a strong side so who knows but if BWP gets injured our board won't stand by and watch things fizzle out and as has been said, our success is not purely down to him, far from it which is evidenced by the fact that he played for us last year when we lost 13 games on the trot and were utter pants. All this banter is childish but thats partly what football is about coz if you analyse it we're getting all worked up about 11 people we don't even know or have any influence over so of course its childish. I think a lot of this new found rivalry stems from the Semedo transfer. I'm glad he's left but that doesn't mean he hasn't been good for them but there's no way i'd want him to come back because to me he was at the hub of all the huff and puff laboured second rate football we played. That's not for any wednesday fan reading this, thats my genuine view and always has been. Racon going to millwall is the really sweet one - if ever there was a show pony who flattered to deceive, it was him and i'll be amazed if he gets in their team whilst they remain in the championship.
Points we've won where BWPs goals have been vital amount to 8, so for anyone (weds fans) who make the point that if he gets injured it'll be the end of our challenge. think again !

I think the problem NethertonOwl is - yourself excluded - a lot of Wednesday fans seem to come over as a bit arrogant. They give off the impression that they are a cut above other clubs - things like calling clubs "tin pot", such as Charlton, Huddersfield, even Barnsley, who are a league above! CAFC regularly get bigger gates than Milwall and Palarse. Both those teams are widely hated by CAFC fans, but I'd say Addicks don't tend to give off the same "cut above" attitude towards them as do Wednesday fans towards their rival teams.
As to your question - CAFC have a very strong squad with numerous players who would easily get into the first team at other league 1 clubs. And that is not to sound arrogant - it is just the luxury CP has had in bringing in 19 players. And both the CAFC and SWFC sides that played out that 1-1 earlier this season are no doubt looking very different now.
BWP - 13 Jackson - 7 Hollands - 5 Kermorgant - 4 Wagstaff - 3 Hayes - 3 Stephens - 2 Wiggins - 1 Morrison - 1 + 1 each for Benson and Euell against Reading in the LC.
Bradley has obviously scored a lot but then he's our goalscoring striker. Hayes and Kerms act more as suppliers for him and have still managed 7 between them while sharing the striker's role. Jackson, Hollands. Waggy and Stephens have a combined 17 goals from midfield, and that is taking into account that two of them haven't been in the first team squad for some weeks. Two of our defenders have also hit the back of the net and two attacektrs scored against Championship opposition during a rare start. That's a very impressive team return.
On the flip side Wednesday have Gary Madine with 11, and then no other player with more than 3 goals.Their next scorers go 3,3,2,2 and then a series of 1s. One of the players with 3 is a centre half. In all honesty we clearly have less issue with where our goals are going to come from were our main striker injured (or suspended as Madine seems so fond of being). We do appreciate a sensible post from a Wednesday fan, I have no problem with the club myself, but when it comes to talking about depth in the squad the stats show that we actually have a fair amount, it's just that the headlines belong to the league's top scorer. I reckon Weds fans will have to rethink that depth criticism. They probably won't though as it's an easy argument to make in the face of the leaders doing well

Cant stand all that, we're not spurs fans, crowing cockerels.
Also, why is all their supporters in denial. They havent done anything since the 30's. apart from one league cup. They're not that big.
