  • "Away games surrounded by wanna-be Danny Dyers" It's much worse at Millwall although we are getting like that . Bumped into a group of ours calling everyone C##ts on the Underground after Sheff Utd away.

    Was probably Bob Crowe ;-)
  • Not that Fat Millwall Cu...Oh

    :-)

  • The two twats sat in front of me who thought they were big and clever giving the 12 year old ballboy absolute pelters for not going onto the pitch to get the ball, which he not allowed to do anyway! Happy to say they were put in their place by fellow Addicks.

They were put firmly in their place by none other than Mick Gibbett...well done Mick, back you all the way in this particular instance. I saw this from my seat in the main stand.

There were several occasions when the ball boys were clearly being coached by Stevenage players to give the ball back slowly. However, this particular lad hadn't been one of the ones that had delayed play previously and on this occasion there was 'no way' in which he could have or indeed should have entered the field of play. The foul mouthed abuse given to this lad was totally OTT and he looked really disturbed by the uncalled for demeanour of these two twats. He was just a little lad, no more than 12 or 13 he was genuinely nervous to return to his seat, which as it happens was right in front of them.

  • Who's Mick gibbett ?

    He's the father of Flibberty.
  • Ex Director....and a thoroughly nice fella to boot.

Fair enough they shouldn't have shouted at the ball boy but they had already been told off by the stewards and the old fella told the steward to have a go again and saying what they said , and I can't stand fucking grasses !
I can assure you 100% that wasn't Mick who approached the stewards, he clearly acted independetly and told the two blokes off himself........and anyway he's not an old fella.
  • Fair enough it was someone else then . Cos he was round he's 60's
    Is that old?
  • No the fella that spoke to the stewards was sitting behind them...Mick was sitting in the same row a few seats along.
  • Why are you so interested? The guys were total to**ers and if they'd have been slung out it wouldn't have been out of order.

    Embarrassing in the extreme.

  • It's times like this I'm glad I live in Plymouth now, and can't get to Many games.
If you support charlton then 'support' charlton, the clue is in the word!
Top of the league and the first loss and you're all spitting your dummies out.
Grow up and get a life.
  • Perhaps because men were abusing kids. Wrong.

Think ill give Brentford away a swerve.
  • Ever so gradually our fans are turning into a complete bunch of moaning pricks. I went to Millwall for the West Ham game with mates the other day and they actually support theire team properly. Vocally, no booing, positive support for their team.  All this whinging and moaning about ballboys, stewards and burgers. Fuck me, what a bunch of tossers. Makes me want to give up my season ticket listening to you lot
Sorry to say that their manager has been getting absolute pelters from many of their fans recently......so I'm not sure I quite agree with your over simplified summing up of the 'average' Spanner.
  • Perhaps because men were abusing kids. Wrong.

Think ill give Brentford away a swerve.
Just a few idiots, no reason to miss a good days drinking!

Also if you're on the terrace you can just walk away , or sit upstairs and be away from them completely.

Vocally, you sure? the do a merry jig when they score and not much else from what i've seen and as for positive support, they spent more time goading west ham than they did even watching the match.

    Show's what you know pal.

I know mick, and was sat about 4 rows behind him. Mick was with the two lads the whole day as well as some others. And hardly put them in their place he CLEARLY said, 'lads give him a break' and it was as simple as that , before you try to make out there was a big incident. Get your facts right before you spout bollocks.

  • What I cannot understand here is why fans are trying to screw their own over? I saw this little problem, and there was nothing to it. Some ball boy clearly was timewasting, a couple of lads gave the ball boy a few shouts, in fact one was exactly " get a poxy move on" it's hardly starting on the kid. So why are fans on here trying to make a big old deal about it? If it were that serious the stewards would of chucked them out... get a life some of you lot. Making a mountain out of a molehill here... and more importantly stop making lies...

You must be new on here. You'll get used to it. Some right nasty people on here who seem to get pleasure out of having a go at fellow Charlton fans.

  • as for the incident at the start of the match lets clear it up.

30+ people all with tickets together get into the ground 5 mins before kick off to find ALL their seats have people in em. When asked nicely to "find your own seats" they said no. So more and more people now moving into a small space. One of our shows this numpty his ticket and says "its defo my seat" the other guy grabs his ticket and rips it up !! thats why all the argy bargy started. Including a kid saying "lets have it"--- him standing in one of our seats so i said "if it goes off your the first one that gets it"--- how strange he was " we are all Charlton 2 seconds after that !"We had to put up with these little knoblets standing in our seats for the whole of the first half.
Second half gave up and stood down to the side where the burger kiosk was---couldnt see a thing really, better that than having a row because tossers wouldnt move out of our seats.
  • knoblet!  I like that word.

Imagine grabbing someone's ticket and ripping it up.

  • "30+ people all with tickets together get into the ground 5 mins before kick off........"

    Therein lies the problem.

  • If you've got a pre-booked seat it shouldn't matter whether you're there 5 mins or 5 hours before the game.
  • Yes exactly plaaayer.  Rubbish point cliveg.
  • We were aware that supporters had chosen to sit in seats (at or near the front that had good views) despite the fact that the chosen seats had not been allocated to them. They had done so very deliberately hoping that the real ticket holders would want to stand at the back and that they could ensure that they could sit down for the game. We'd sold out, so this time, it caused a problem.  Problems within problems really and too many people deciding, yet again, that they can behave as they want without any regard to other people. We do seem to have more idiots than used to be the case, the main difference being that we now appear to have acquired rather too many exceptionally unpleasant idiots.

    exactly, in a nutshell.

we had the same problem at orient the first time we played them at there gaff in the league, it was allocated tickets but some people just seem unable to grasp the concept of having to sit where there ticket tells them to sit, if they went to the valley on a sat and someone was sat in there seat i bet they wouldnt be happy, so why on earth when it comes to sold out away games they think its a free for all is beyond me. If you have tickets away from your mates just go and politly ask anyone sitting near them if they wouldnt mind swapping seats SIMPLE!!!! no need for macho stand offs and ripping up of tickets, were charlton fans not millwall fans come on people..
  • Orient was unallocated!

  • I have a positive, I didn't go to the match, but someone gave me a programme yesterday and I liked the section about Charlton. the area, the team, their form, their former managers.
