Absolutely, there are 5 Clubs at the top who have all experienced life in the top Division. The playoffs will be a tough challenge this season. Whilst we are doing well is the time to strive for more. You can bet that Gus Poyet wasn't happy with 3 points clear last year, we need to be greedy.
It's true that we seem to play better away but then again on Saturday if BWP had buried his chance in injury time we would've been talking about 3 points again.
I do think we need to get used to teams coming here closing us down and wasting time and it'll be upto us to get around that. The Exeter game the team showed patience by passing it around, the minority in the crowd got frustrated but we waited and took our chances. We didn't do that against Tranmere and we kept going for the long ball, although credit where it's due Tranmere actually played well and deserved at least a point.
At least this result keeps everyone's feet on the ground, fans/players/coaching staff can't get carried away or go thinking that games are already won before we turn up.
Les Parry obviously watched the video of Wednesday playing us (second half)since the tactics were similar. Lots of balls in the air when they are bigger than us recognising that centre backs and midfield will always try and respons by heading clear rather than controlling the ball. The only two that regularly brought the ball down to feet in response to head tennis were kermit and bwp. I know that they flooded the midfield and made it difficult but we were and are much better playing the ball on the floor than most teams in this league.
Not original but the home crowd can be a twelfth man for us or for them.
Encourages players to go for the safe option and let someone else make the mistake that attracts the boos.
Also with the success of our season so far a draw feels like a loss. So I guess we need to take a reality check, we're ahead of where Brighton were this time last year.
As others have said- putting it simply, teams try to stop us where as at home they can't get away with that approach because we are a bit more careful in the way we play away ourselves. We are a big club in this league so have to accept it and find a way to overcome it. Certain styles do pose us problems and Chrissy will need to find a system to deal with it effectively, but i'm sure he will.

This. Don't make the fans responsible for what is not happening on the pitch. Away teams shutting up shop, playing ugly with a 451 is something that CP and the Charlton management team are going to have to get to grips with tactically.
Agree. But don't be surprised when players who are unreasonably and loudly criticised every time they make a poor touch start playing with less flair and confidence.
