just watched the highlights again as well. Forgot what a utterly brilliant hat-trick that was. If it had been Messi etc would have been drooled over. To me the most significant striker we've had in the last 20 years, if not the best. Reminds me I met him in john Lewis Bluewater not long after it had opened. Top bloke. Had just bought my six year old a ball which he seemed more than happy to sign. Five minutes later passed him in a kids shoe shop and exchanged nods. Five minutes after that walks straight into him in House of Fraser. Now getting embarrassing.
next year will mark 20 years.. yes 20 years back at the valley, hard to beleive it really, the club should do somthing special to mark this and why not make the hall of fame a focus point.
Brings back so many memories. Great decoy from Bright for the first goal but what a magical turn from Mendonca. Great work from the two Joneses and a magic last touch from Clive before sliding it past Perez. Bright also probably made the third standing right in front of Perez, although he didn't move, meaning Rufus headed into the unguarded net. Then the fourth was a fantastic tackle from Brownie, a great drive to the byleline from Steve Jones and a magical first touch and stretch to make it 4-4 and stun everyone into disbelief. The rest as they say is history!

adam..........I believe there are tentative early plans to have a function to celebrate this anniversary.
There has never been a better, more important Hat trick scored at Wembley by an Englishman( with a foreign sounding name, admittingly) Geoff Who ? one of those wasn't over the line, and the other, there were people on the Pitch. So that only counts as one. Clive Mendonca a living Legend to CAFC fans, If only we could've found a decent osteopath you would have kept us in the prem that first season.

I'm happy to see Super Clive in the top 10 (and above Lionel Messi!)

Even my boys are like 'he played for us??'
Top class and much missed.
Proper striker.
Love him to bits.
