Sullivan - 4 Hughes - 2 one for each pass to a red shirt. Taylor - 6 Doherty - 3 Evina -7 MOM Green - 6 Mikel (Alonso) - 5 Stephens - 6.5 Jackson - 4.5 not a CM Hayes - 6 Wagstaff - 6
Morrison - 6 Euell - 3 Kermorgant - 6.5 Powell - 5 needs to do more than sub players to change the game.
The clown who gave Alonso a 0 marking makes a mockery of this thread.

Oh I am sorry, I thought this was a thread for people to post their own views on how they judged players performances. Maybe I was a bit harsh marking him lower than hughes and Doc but that is my view. Cheers.

No credit for the passes he did make, the moments of close control under pressure or the way he went looking for the ball?
And lost the ball through poor first touch or gave the ball away by not looking up or stopping running when players were passing to where he should have been running. Fair enough match fitness will tune him up and I was a bit harsh in saying he should not grace a football pitch again but I just paid a fiver to watch that and I actually felt like I had been mugged.
Sullivan - 5 - Positioning looked off to me tonight, seemed to be getting his angles wrong on a few occassions. Hughes - 3 - All the underhit passes of a stereotypical Francis performance (+ some) with none of the attacking adventure. Taylor - 4 - Slightly better than Doc but partially at fault for their first goal and spent the first half getting in Doc's way. Doherty - 3 - Two weak clearing headers contributing to goals conceded, off the pace, second to most loose balls and in Taylor's way all first half. Doc has been a good, solid honest pro and don't doubt he ever tries anything but his best. I have a lot of respect for him for that, but I've seen more mobile oak trees and it's time Doc was put out to pasture. Really hope we don't have to use him in the league, even a raw Mambo has to be ahead of him in the pecking order now. Evina - 7 MOM - Like this kid, he's got drive and energy, can carry the ball and cross and also looks very compotent defensively. Would be first choice at most clubs in our divisions, imo. Green - 5 - Not much came off for him, but he looked as likely to spark something as any of our sideways forwards. his passing got loose and wasteful as the game wore on though and he seemed to get frustrated, Mikel (Alonso) - 5 - horribly off the pace first half but improved. Nasty error for the pen, but hints in the second half he may have something about him but played too slow and indirect tonight, really, to make anything happen from midfield. Stephens - 5 - struggled to get into the game without Hollands next to him. Jackson - 4 - Was he playing? Hayes - 6 - would have been 5 but he gets a sympathy point because he was trying and didn't receive a decent pass all night - also only had to look at their centre backs to concede a free kick. Not a lone striker. Wagstaff - 5 - Huffed and puffed but no quality from him apart from one nice shot. I have a lot of time for Waggy and he's come on a lot since his debut, but if he wants to push on from here he needs to start influencing games more in terms of creativity. Morrison - 6 - improved the defence when he came on by marking the areas that Doc wasn't. Euell - 4.5 Kermorgant - 5
Sullivan - 5 - let in 3 goals, made 1 good save but some dodgy positioning
Hughes - 2.5 - why did we sign him, not worthy of a place on the bench for me. Shocking game
Taylor - 5 - not great today, but not bothered because he's been awesome in the league... a JPT performance
Doherty - 2 - masterclass...... pay him off now.
Evina - 6.5 - best of a bad set of performances tonight - good cover for Wiggins
Green - 6 - some glimpses of brilliance, some moments of madness (booking, shot near the end), bit of an in and out performance. He will get better and play a big part this season - the x factor
Alonso - 4.5 - poor game, but first game. I have faith he will come good
Stephens - 5.5 - missed Hollands. a JPT performance
Jackson - 5 - poor game
Wagstaff - 5 - didn't see too much of the ball, great strike 2nd half, but generally poor from waggy today
Hayes - 5 - missed BWP - I think Kermit is pushing for a 1st team place
Morrison - 6 - solid enough
Euell - 4 - not worthy of a place on the bench atm - second touch is a tackle
Kermorgant - 5 - not great but seemed to have a bit of a presence about him, woeful free kick.
Hughes 5 Didn't play well , I'm glad we signed him as a versatile player on the bench now the 5 subs rule has been implimented.
Taylor 6 Looked sound but didn't gel well with the Doc
Doherty 5 Taylor does not compliment him at all in a similar way that Llera didn't last season . Unlike many on here I like the Doc but accept he will probably go on loan now once Cort returns.Disappointing .
Evina 7 Best player in a bad team . Unlucky that Wiggins is playing so well .What is it about left backs , it has been a problem for us over the last two seasons , now we have two great prospects . Maybe he could be our impact Left Midfielder so I think he has a key role to play at some stage this season.
Green - 6 Had his moments , average
Mikel (Alonso) - 5 Forget his bro , Mikel himself has played in La Liga and the Premiership , I think and hope he will come good .He looked well below match fitness . Now he has made his debut he will not be Cory Gibbs , lets hope he plays again so does not get remembered like Karim Bagheri or Omar Pouso
Stephens 6 Didn't get involved as much
Jackson 6 Not one of his better games but still took good dead ball kicks.
Hayes 5 Didn't offer much
Wagstaff 6 Extra mark for workrate
Morrison - 6 Competent but no more Euell - 5 Another player like Doc and Hughes who i can't seeing starting many but is a good option from the bench , might be a good loan option for someone like AFC Wombles with a 24 hour release clause after the first month. Kermorgant - 6 Looked more potent than the others.
Hughes 4 not impressed and didn't step up as you'd expect an old pro to do
Taylor 5 strolled thru the one half but did little wrong
Doherty 3 Even worse than some of the displays last year
Evina 6 Showed some nice touches but can't be expected to play on his own
Green 4 Crosses woeful and corners into side netting. Isn't that meant to be his strong point? Wears the halo
Mikel (Alonso) 3 so off the pace it was embarrassing. TBF to him didn't hide
Stephens 5 another first teamer who strolled thru the one half he knew was all he had to do
Jackson 6 Tried to get the passing going and did link up with Waggy and Evina
Hayes 6.5 Isolated but anything positive involved him. Not a lone striker
Wagstaff 4.5 Not good but played three different positions and best shot of game was his. Wears the horns
Morrison 5 Stroll
Euell 5.5 Added a bit more energy but hardly saw the ball
Kermorgant 5 Willing runner but touch well off. Should have played Waggy (who was in acres of space) in near the end but blazed over.
Not reading anything into this. Was a typical Curbs era cup game where we played at 80% and the oppo played at 100%. Players saw it as a game to get thru unhurt and unbooked which we nearly did.
Only problem was the Covered End was closed so some ruffians from there were sitting behind us. : - )
Sullivan 6 hard to blame him for anything Hughes 4 very poor Taylor 5 worst game in the shirt
Doherty 3 error strewn Evina 6.5 hopefully will get some proper gametime Green 5 did nothing
Mikel (Alonso) 3 poor Stephens 5 without Hollands taking up intelligent position he looked a lot weaker than I imagine Jackson 4 a floating role is not his thing
Hayes 6 Isolated, offered llittle threat Wagstaff 5 Playing out of position but kept the work rate up without offering much
Sullivan: 6 - He did ok, wasn't to blame for any goal, good back-up goalie. Hughes: 3 - Shocking. Far too slow, looks past it to me. He got ripped up. I'd rather Jordan Cousins at right back than him. Taylor: 6 - He didn't do a lot wrong. Hard to play with Hughes one side and Doherty on the other. Doherty: 2 - Just terrible. So slow it's painful to watch. Shouldn't play for the first team the rest of the season. Surely got a young player better than that. Evina: 6.5 - I was very impressed. really quick, good touch about him too. At 19, he has a lot of potential. Green: 6 - Had some nice touches. The team was disjointed last night, in the regular team, he could be very effective. Alonso: 5.5 - Some nice passing there. He looked painfully short of match fitness, he looked absolutely knackered. When he's 100 he will be good. Stephens: 5 - Ineffective last night. Think Powell told him just to do nothing wrong (e.g don't get booked or get a knock). Jackson: 6 - He did ok. Was one of the players who didn't give it 100% last night, understandably. Hayes: 5 - Not a lone striker. He got very little support and didn't get any chances really, not his fault. Wagstaff: 5 - He was another one that was pretty average. He'll run all day but he lacks that extra bit of quality. Would have Green in place of him at right midfield.
Morrison: 6 - Solid, even with that calamity of a defence around him. Euell: 4 - Hasn't impressed me this season one bit. Personally, I think he's passed it and we need a fourth choice striker with pace. Kermorgant: 5 - He looked good when he came on. Has that little bit of flair, which is impressive in a big man. I think, when he gets to 100% fitness, that he'll start ahead of Hayes. Good striker at this level.
Sullivan 6 no fault for the goals. looked more comfortable on the ball than last season
Hughes 3 Awful performance. No pace, plenty of passes into the crowd. Looked mega rusty but not a patch on Francis
Taylor 5 Showed how a steady partnership can improve a player. Looked a bit lost alongside Doc
Doherty 2 Embarassing to be honest. Doddery, slow, usual assortment of headers straigh down the middle to the opposition in the danger zone
Evina 7 MOM for me. Looked lively. Handled Weston very well considering hes the danger man
Green 6 Flashy but needs game time. Sily booking again. Needs to remember that the reason he is not in the team is because he was suspended from day 1 and Waggy took his chance. No good to us if he is constantly suspended
Mikel (Alonso) 4 First 25-30 mins was worthy of a zero but improved thereafter. Didn't hide from the ball and managed 90 mins when clearly unfit. Could certainly play a part later in the season.
Stephens 5.5 Needed this game like a hole in the head. Looks leggy and in need of a breather to be honest - has done for a couple of weeks
Jackson 5.5 Not really involved. I get the impression Powelly said "Go out and just don't get injured" to a few regulars
Hayes 3 I'm fed up with him. Yes he runs around a lot but never seems to be in the right place at the right time. Seems physically incapable of jumping. Has no pace. Poor reactions. Occasional nice flick but then 9/10 times his first touch is beyond shambolic. Kermit deserves a run
Wagstaff 4 Can play behind a striker but last night it just didn't work. Rest time I think - impact sub for a few games whilst Greenie has a run.
Morrison 6.5 shored up the defence and looked solid enough.
Euell 4 Forgot he came on
Kermorgant 6 Was a 7 until he took that free kick. Quite possibly the worst free kick I have witnessed in my 35 years. Looks like a very decent player though and with BWP making intelligent runs could be a potent strikeforce
all in all I am not fussed about the result but it was a disappointing performance. The team that beat Reading earlier in the season was younger, hungrier and faster - the players that stepped in last night (Evina excluded) were older, slow and significantly less fit. Not concerned about the strength in depth as I'm sure they were told not to get injured - but I do think it shows we could really use a reserve team playing week in week out as the occasionaly "development" games aren't giving enough people quality game time
