Do the 5 or 6 "1st teamers" have to have played in games or does sitting on the bench count ? That would help out & for the 1st & last time we could take a tip from the ginger mourinho as he's being referred to in sheffield ( don't laugh I read it on their forum so it must be true!) & we could substitute another 3 1st teamers after 2 minutes ..............who cares about sky & the paint lot ? We have a squad lets use them in any legal way we can.
Alonso took full part in the pre-match warm-up at Bramall Lane on Saturday, before breaking off to do extra running, as did Euell, Evina and Smith. So I'd expect him to play some part in this one, possibly as a starter.
Of course a Charlton win would be nice but if they lose why worry.
In years to come we will be struggling over a pint of beer to remember what the bloody hell this competition was called.
I can hear the conversation now. I know what it was ......The Milk Cup, No it was the Carling Cup ........No it was the Watney Cup ......No it was the Cock cup ........No it was the big F**K up...... No it was the Does What It Says On The Can Cup
No No No No you are all wrong it was called The Inter Cities Tits Up Cup
Seriously. The most important thing of all is we don't have any injuries in this Tin Pot, Piss Pot, Paint Pot Trophy competition that will spoil the rest of our league season. Getting out of this division has to be number one priority.

Interestingly the rules state that the teams have to play their full strength team, although the Football League Board have the discretion to say what this means from time to time.
hope we loose because this paint cup is a waste of time.
Besides we'll be going to wembely for the F.A cup final ; )
Oh i hope you are right, pray you are right and dream you are right but i fear Charlton will be at Wembley allright but sitting in row k just behind the royal box.
i KNOW that the JPT isn't high on our agenda but hope we put out a side that shows the scrillions of Sky viewers that whoever wears the shirt means business.
How many are scrillions Fanny? I reckon there will be more in the ground than wartching and on that basis a scrillion musty be less than 1! However, i do agree with you.
OK, Kap. Maybe I meant squillions or maybe it's just a fanackapanism !
always want to see us win and winning breads confidence, however gonna give this one a miss and watch it in the comfort of my front room tonight, I expect less than 3k there.
Another opportunity to watch your favourite team at home, don't understand the apathy myself. Hope we win & win well for those that do bother to turn up tonight, as for all you fair weather sky tv'ers shame on you.
More games, more pressure. Nah. it's a no-brainer. I don't ever want to see Charlton lose, but this competition is bloody ridiculous. Teams in these divisions are already overstretched. Make entry in the competition voluntary, if it's such a f*cking honour teams should be queuing up to register.
All tickets for Charlton's Johnstone's Paint Trophy Southern Section second-round match against Brentford on Wednesday, October 5th (7.45pm) are priced £5.
They are on general sale and are available online, but only the lower west and east stands will be open for this fixture. Therefore the seats of season-ticket holders will not be reserved.
Don't agree that it is a pointless game. It's a chance for some of the squad players to get a much needed competitive game at The Valley and I'll be there to support them.
Just saw the brentford team in bexleyheath taking a walk, looked like there youth team very small very young looking, may not have been the first team but they looked relaxed and happy,

I dont usually disagree with OohAhh but I would have no problem with a day out at Wembley for this as long as it doesnt impact on the league form.
That said I wont be there tonight and to be honest if the missus wants to watch Come Dine With Me I probably wont kick up a fuss.
However, Southend away in the next round, you betcha.
Our record at Wembley is LWLW so happy to lose the final and win the Championship Play Offs next season.
1. Is it a fiver?
2. Will the Covered End be open?
