  • Not being picky but I'm surprised Hamer getting a lot of high scores as first half I was really concerned at the crosses he flapped at. Second half (although at the opposite end of the ground) he looked like he made a couple of good saves.

Definately needs to work on making the right choice when the ball is put high into the box.

And agree with Rothko and Redarmy Wiggins was outstanding.

  • PS     Poor old Kermit. Rated 9.5 but can't be marked because he only played 25 minutes.
No probs though ....he only scored 1 and set up the second - didn't really have any impact  on the match, did he?
    Bit like last Tuesday.

    ;o)
Oggy you're wrong, Kermit came on in the 65th minute and the match finished in the 94m 34s which I round up to 95m and so stats say he gets a mark as he played 30m, and please don't haggle over 26s

Hamer -  6.5 good save late on but little else to do. hate the phrase "flapped" but he totally misjudged at least one cross.  he didn't flap he just stood as it was headed back over him. Fortunately Taylor was behind him.  Still think he is a good keeper and will be a vital part of this promotion campaign
Solly - 8.5 Average performance.  Average for Chris "weak link too short" Solly that is.  They just couldn't get past him
Morrison - 8  Must have a headache from all the balls he nodded clear.  Can't dock him points for the 1st half miss
Taylor - 8 Goal line clearance and some important blocks and tackles
Wiggins - 8.5 Like Solly they tried to turn him but failed
Wagstaff - 7  Another hardworking performance in two different positions.  Never even a foul let alone a yellow but show how desperated Utd had become as they wanted a player sent off to give them a chance.
Hollands - 8  Some huge tackles
Stephens - 7.5  great defensively less so creatively but it was one of games that was more of a fight.  He did his job
Jackson - 8.5  so many good tackles and passes
Hayes - 7.5 set up the best chance of first half and defended very well. Played very deep to help the team
BWP - 8 won the corner that lead to the first goal with typical hard work and then scored. OK he got some luck with the re-bound but did I care at the time or now?  Not a bit.  Could and maybe should have had another before that.

Kermogant - 8 I'm a big Hayes fan (and Kevin Nolan even mixes us up) but Kermorgant is a real find.  Was told on the way home by a Bromley resident that he's still two weeks off full fitness.  How good will he be then?  A goal and a (slightly fortunate) assist but other than a wild shot that went for a throw he was very good.  Nice problem to have
Green (n/a) -  hardly touched the ball and his one cross floated harmlessly into the keepers hands.  But he broke very late on and hit a fierce shot that the keeper had to tip away. Maybe should have passed to Kermit for 3 - 0 but easy to say in hindsight. Not sure if he is fully fit either but again what a great option either off the bench or starting.

Hughes 10 - Cult figure in the making.  Runs all day as a sub and as a player.

Powell 9  - Keep the same team when we needed to. Not just to show the players that winners stay in but we needed the defensive strength that Waggy brings away to a strong team.  Then at the right time subs on a goal scoring.  Utd couldn't cope.

Hi Lancs, my post was meant to be tongue in cheek, not a criticsm. You do a great job!

  • Hamer -     8

Solly -        9     MOM; the match by match improvement in his game is impressive

    Morrison -  8

    Taylor -      8

    Wiggins -    7.5

Wagstaff -   6.5 Needs to have a breather; a rest should help him focus on improving his game

    Hollands -   7.5

    Stephens -   7.5

    Jackson -    8

Hayes -       6  Disappoints; might not be a popular observation but I have seen Benson perform better.

BWP -          8.5 Oh the joy of having a striker who does what he is paid to do

    Kermogant - 8

Green (n/a) - 7.5 marks for the threat he poses late in the game

  • I'm stunned that Wiggins is getting marks under 8, really am
This, I'm convinced people know nothing about the game.

    Opinions are like noses............

Everybody has one*, and it's not always a bad thing**.

    *Excludes Daniella Westbrook

  • 11/10 to Sir Chris Powell for an inspired substitution
    two games in a row
And some people reckon he's not tactically astute ......?
Maybe he should have started Kermogant and Green? ;-)

cant choose between Morrison and Wiggins for MOM

thought Wagstaff and Hayes were the only two who were poor, and Kermy and Green will be starters very soon. Hamer worried me loads, couple of half decent saves bu can't catch a cold and flaps at crosses way too often. I was worried Stephen Quinn would cause us problems but the full backs were outstanding, as were the defence in general. Morrison is a class act and Taylor has been suprisingly good. Wiggins getting better every game and the passion is outstanding. COYR!! My confidence is sky high.
  • Now closing this for marks, brushing the dust off my abacus and STATBANK with PROMO-METER will be with you by Tuesday morning, or earlier if I'm lucky
  • Good man Lancs
