was sat behind you MIA, with my 10 year old daughter. she was quite shocked to see the blood pouring down his face and yes, the player did look a bit concerned and a bit sheepish, lol. glad it didnt ruin a great day out.
I once took one full in the face from Julian Dicks during the warm up and that bloke couldn't half hit them sweetly. Specs went for a burton, cuppa all over the place and got a big cheer from the b'stards around me who had seen it coming but chose to concentrate on getting themselves out of the way. Ever since I always keep one eye on the programme and one on the pitch if I'm within range (which, given the player quality we've had down The Valley until recently, was anywhere inside the stadium...).
Really glad he's okay and enjoyed the rest of the day and that the club are sorting him out with a shirt to boot. He'll always remember that away trip with his old man!
MiA, your brave son has a badge of honour now, and what a great dad you've been supporting him throughout his medical adventures, an even greater dad for introducing him to Charlton. Best wishes to you on Wednesday, and to your son....I hope Kermit presents the shirt on the pitch (if thats what you'd like).
A big thankyou to Henry Irving for directiion, Stephen Kavanagh, Rick Everitt , & Matt Wright , my son was in todays programme (page 46) and got to meet Yann after the match , when Yann kindly handed his shirt over , my son is chuffed as punch.
